You dont understand how it works.

The senior bowl is part of the draft process.
You said it yourself, Will is looking out for himself and his family, and that is my point. When you are part of a team you don't put yourself first, and Im sure not everyone in the program feels "everyone is fine" about his decision but you cant say anything at this point.

Im entitled to have an opinion on this topic, no, he didn't ask my opinion and that is fine, but at some point I hope he learns that life is not all about yourself.

Now that the awards have come out and the Offensive MVP went to Sills I think its pretty simple. Will Grier was in Morgantown just long enough to pad his resume to get to the NFL. Look back, if it were not for the hand injury he would have left last year. WVU was just a stepping stone to get him to his goal. Being an NFL QB is a about Leadership, and Will got kicked off his team at Florida for using PED's and he left WVU the first time he had a chance. I appreciate the memories and what he did for the program but I just feel used.

btw, for all those that think Will should have stayed because he had nothing to prove, well, your the parent or family that takes there kid off of a travel baseball or AAU team because the team no longer fits you or your child's personal needs. Its called doing the right the thing!

Having said all that lets get behind Allsion go beat Syracuse.

Typical homer thinking any of these players play for you LOL. If it wasn’t for Grier the last two years would have sucked and look like last year after he got hurt. Homer fans are moronic jerkoffs.

Lot more to the post then just using it as a stepping stone, its also about leaving two teams and having Leadership and doing the right thing (using PED's knowing if he got caught his team would pay the price), and leaving his team hanging for a bowl game.

Not at the expense of others...that's selfish

Move on geek

I see both sides of the coin however I know whether Will Grier played or not, whether he rocked it or suffered a serious injury that costs his wife, child, and himself quite a bit of money, WVU athletic Dept and Holgorsen still get their annual millions. If a man puts his family in front of team then I cannot fault him for it no less than admiring the man for risking everything to play that game for his team. It was his decision and he made what he felt was best for his family. He is a Mountaineer to me.

^^^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^^. Homers please read BUCKs post 3 times.

Oh I agree how important he was to our program, we would have been lost, but that does not mean I cant have an opinion on his decision....

and we very well may suck in the bowl game....if we get our butts kicked it will, Gibby's got to go, the 3-3-5 stinks, our OC stinks, coaches didn't get kids ready to play but if Will had played no one would discuss these other things

I think every athlete has a goal of reaching the pro level. Those who come close have big decisions to make. Personal lives matter most.

If grier had chosen to go elsewhere, he could have gone most anywhere he wanted to, how would our team have fared without him? I appreciate him coming here, he will be a WVU guy from now on. Get over yourself, he has his life to lead and one game isn't going to help his draft status . An injury would hurt it.

Good point, when you put self above team and that is what Sags is doing, so how can we give Will a pass and not Sags

have his agent pay it and refund him from the signing bonus like everyone else does.....

It doesnt make any difference if he does or does not have a policy.

Nothing changes. Hes moving on with his life and you're an entitled old man.

If he signs with an agent and the agent begins providing him benefits he wouldnt be eligible for the bowl game anyways, right?

Once you have an agent, you are considered a pro.

And he may have a policy. If he does its not something he needs to disclose.

The senior bowl is important to the NFL teams, that is why he is playing.

You will need to accept that your opinion on this does not matter.
No, it is a fact. Did Will Grier consult with you? Has he asked for your guidance?

No. Because your opinion doesnt matter.

And neither does yours star wars geek...its a message board... people have different opinions on the subject. Get over it already...

Will Grier is a lesser Geno Smith with less raw physical ability. Maybe a tad bit smarter than Geno but not much. Geno was taller and stronger armed plus more mobile. With that said Grier will not be a NFL starter long. He is a career backup at best. I guarantee he drops in draft to 2nd-3rd-4th round. Lacks the measurables and played in a gimmick offense. He will struggle in NFL. Career backup.

WVU was 10-2 before Grier and will be better after Grier.

ok...I respect his decision but some like me disagree

Duly noted. He doesn’t care because his job isn’t to entertain you...it’s to get to the NFL.

The Senior Bowl is far away a more clear path to that end than some crap bowl against an equally crap opponent.

I’ll give you this, Geno has a better arm. I would argue there aren’t 10 QBs in the NFL with a better one. Geno’s Issue is that he makes terrible decisions because he was never given a chance to grow into an NFL starter.

Will makes better decisions and has far better touch...those things matter more than if you can throw it 50 yards while kneeling at midfield.

Playing QB in the NFL is about making the correct read and throw accurately into tight spaces.

But keep crying about leadership if it makes you feel better.

“Will” is his first name , not his position on defense.

Our whole defense is playing which I feel is his audition for being our DC next year. If we get smoked, I believe we can render a decision on Gibby whether or not Grier plays.

If our offense gets crushed by an average defense and our QBs look awful then the onus is on Dana (our OC next year) to get a top QB transfer or else.

In other words, even a team without Grier doesn’t exclude our ability to figure out some things. I think it will be helpful to not have Will bail out a potentially bad game plan.

If you think this is bad. Wait until they start paying the players a salary and someone leaves for a higher paying school. Bidding wars for top schools for top players.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. For the last time, those loss of value coverages are very difficult to collect if a claim is made. They are a rider to a disability policy and they are limited and uncertain at best. It’s not as simple as “buy insurance”.
https://www.collegeandprosportslaw....-the-price-for-student-athletes-universities/
it can be like dealing with an insurance adjustor to pay for damage on a roof.....it has to meet the guidelines but at the end of the day you might have to fight for you money but you will still get it....Loylds of London policies are for more then just athletes

Geno was a pos to the Jet who punched him if you ask me. He told that dude who punched him that he was going to his kids football camp as a guest, and that dude advertised it big time and all these kids were super pumped that Geno Smith was going to be there, and then Geno pulled a no-show and acted like he never said he'd do it in the first place. Kids had paid, kids parents struggled to get their kids their to see Geno and Geno didnt even show. Who does that stuff? Not a leader thats for sure. Hopefully that punch knocked some integrity into him.
