Yes..I know the mandatory retirement thingy....I get it... ...but still lose (take taxpayer ) money. The government shouldn’t be giving random days off to so many employees at the expense of taxpayers that really are not represented in that decision. ....Plus we’re too busy working to really make it an issue.

I actually agree with this. I can honestly see the US government shutting down in DC. The traffic is brutal without a state funeral in process. But to close Federal Agencies in any other jurisdiction is a waste.

Then declare a national day of mourning and close everything but essential functions. The one federal employee I spoke with yesterday was going off to mourn in the Tysons Corner mall
