This may be an historic Football Final Four: THREE unbeaten teams!!!
In the 6 years, I believe, of the Football Final Four there were only a total of 3 teams unbeaten and never more than 1 in a season.
Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame.
The Irish don’t play again and had a weak schedule (Michigan victory doesn’t look like much now) but I can’t quarrel with a Power 5 team or independent equivalent that is unbeaten being in the Football Final Four.
Alabama and Clemson are pretty close to locks to stay unbeaten, although there’s no guarantees in college football.
So then it comes down to Oklahoma, if it beats Texas, with the best offense in the country, or an Ohio State team that looked semi-lost for most of the season or a Georgia team losing to Alabama.
Oklahoma has the brand that TV likes so I’m guessing … and it’s just that … that if Oklahoma wins the Big 12 title game and Georgia loses that the Sooners will get the nod. The Buckeyes, other than the Michigan game (hell Notre Dame beat the Wolverines, too), haven’t done much.
It will interesting to see how the College Pretzel Committee explains its 4 choices.
