I think it's time we kick some Euro *** on their soil. Is it too late for Phil to fake an injury?

My son says to me..."What time should I get up Friday?" I say, "Whatever time you normally get up for school."

He responds... "Yeah, but I want to watch the Cup... so should I get up at like 3 or 4?"

Where did I go wrong as a father..... :D

I have a 6am flight tomorrow. Might as well get up around 2:30ish to make sure I'm ready.

As usual, the US roster looks better on paper, though I can't remember the last time it seemed legtimately safe to bet the Americans on Euro soil regardless who was on the team. For that reason alone.....if I had to place a bet today.....I'd put my money on Europe.

US still has to find a way to suvive those friggin' foursomes, where the Euros pretty much always offset (or fully overcome) whatever advantages the Americans have coming out of four ball. That's also where team whack jobs Sergio and Poulter (who are sitting tomorrow morning) are at their absolute most effective.

Biggest early shock to me (even more than DeChambeau's benching) is that Bjorn is sitting Henrik Stenson tomorrow morning......who I'd have thought to be a slam dunk to play all 5 matches.

I don't claim to know much about the players' individual form.....though I've heard a fair amount of pre-event thought that Bubba and Sergio are both considered to be coming-in off their respective games.....but I'll be watching to see how he looks once he walks out onto the course. Hard not to wonder at this point if he's got some injury issues. Of course, that's something already publicly known about Rickie Fowler.

I'll also be intereted to see how many times Furyk rolls out Woods......in an event in which he's not been very good. Does he ask Woods to try and power through 5 matches, especially if he happens to be playing well ?? My personal guess is NOT.....

Still some distance to go in the current session, but the Euros are sure kicking *** here in the foursomes (as they seem to do most of the time).

Foursome pairing yesterday were horrific. Much better today. Personally, I would have kept Bubba on the bench and played Finau with Webb. Let's hope Bubba can help out a little today. USA has to win at least 3 in foursomes on Saturday.

An *** kicking unlike no other.
I think we went 4-0 in four ball last year. On a personal note, I developed vertigo wednesday night. This is pure ****, treating for inner ear but I can barely walk without getting sick. Hard to do anything.

Dang, sorry to hear. I've had vertigo since late 90's. Have it every second of every day. But rarely do I get an episode to the point of what you describe. I just can't balance, look up or straight down without swaying and I have dizzy spells where I have to sit down.

Hope you feel better.

tGot named to the Viginia's team later next month to take on the carolinas team at spring Creek. Two day, Ryder cup style format. Had to wtih draw this weekend from a tournament and hope I get better so I can play. Hard to make the team since the age is 50 here in Va and I'm 63.

I'm done playing for awhile as I leave Friday for international travel for several weeks.

Even though the Euros are going to win the cup back, I've enjoyed this RC. Great course and fans have been excellent.

That’s 1in a decade that was headlined by Phil and Tiger
What is interesting to me, the one time we did win in the heyday of Tiger and Phil, it might have been one of the two weakest American teams of my knowledge. And I know a good bit of golf history. The RC isn't about a few individuals: it is about the team.
