You think it's cheap to close off city streets in DC, provide police for security along the route, coordinate security for the President to be at the parade? That's a lot of man hours in planning and execution. That doesn't take into account the traffic issues and everything else. DC isn't going to make a ton of money on this. It's not like people are going to shop or hit up a ton of restaurants in a part of town where all of that is shut down.

Have you been to downtown DC? I've gone to fireworks there on the 4th of July many times. I used to go into the city to visit monuments on occasion. Nothing is open in the downtown area. You aren't hitting restaurants on your way out, at least not in DC. You are trying to get out of the huge mass of people. I've been in Metro stations on the 4th where you couldn't breath because of the number of people packed in there.

I don't know if country supports foreign aid for Abortions, hard to believe since most Leftists these days are essentially fiscal deficit hawks, opposed to all unneeded Federal spending!
