You haven’t paid attention to the Fever or the WNBA. You’re an idiot and someone who is a drive by CC fan.

This team was horrible before CC got there. With KM and AB as the core. Their limitations are significant on both sides/

You have to pay attention to more than CC.
I believe you quoted my post by mistake because virtually nothing in your message is responsive to the points I stated therein — which was addressed to another poster.

It’s possible that the error wrongly makes you look like a moron.

If it’s not a mistake, I’m sorry for giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Own what you said. You don’t think it’s a lost season. You have no idea because you didn’t watch the Fever or WNBa before CC. You’re ignorant. But you’re not alone.

She won rookie of the year, was top 5 MVP as a rookie, and set the all time season assist record as a rookie. You’re an idiot. But thanks for outing yourself/
Wow - why the vitriol? All I said was CC was over hyped through no fault of her own. I'm sure she would agree with that. Is she an excellent player, definitely. But a superstar, no, and her stats bear that out. She's leading the league in turnovers per game and shooting poorly especially from 3 at less than 30%. Also, she's a below average defensive player. Stats don't lie and like everyone else I'm hoping she turns things around the second half of the season.

Dave is the founder of Barstool Sports. He is a HUGE CC fan & flew to Iowa City just to watch Caitlin/Iowa play. He's been highly critical of the stupid women in the W who continually are making stupid decisions & stupid comments.

A while back, after that Connecticut Sun game with the kerfuffle, it almost seems like something was said to Clark. This is just conjecture, but I wonder if it was basically conveyed to her that White is the coach and things are going to be done the way Coach White wants them done. Told to tone things down and run the offense the way that the coach wants it.

It feels like White is trying to fit the proverbial square peg in a round hole. As that guy said in the video in an earlier post. Opposing teams number one goal is to disrupt Clark’s ball handling and to get the ball out of hands, and then White proceeds to play right into that. IMO, the Fever don’t have the personnel to run the offense White wants.

Maybe she could learn the lesson that Sides learned: Keep the ball in Clark's hands, don't walk it up the court, and run baby, run! ;)

You said she was a star in college but not much in the pros. Please enlighten us on her WNBA performance last year when she wasn't injured. Did Caitlin not perform up to your standards or are you just ignoring last year for a reason. Do think her injuries might be impacting this year? Do you think Mike Krzyzewski is "over hyping" Caitlin too?

It’s your opinion that it’s a “lost season”. Fine. That’s a premature conclusion at this point, several games before the All-Star break. But go ahead and jump ship IDC.

I think clark is mentally drained. The whole league hates her. I even think there's players on the Fever who are jealous of her and play differently when she's on the court.
Her body language isn't the same. She doesn't look like she's even enjoying herself.
One comment in a twitter post said the Fever were gifted a unicorn and they have cut off its horn so it looks like all of the other ponies. I thought that was good, and perhaps what is happening or has happened.

Caitlin wasn't just a star in college she was a genuine phenomenon, a superstar by any standard. Her stats alone bear that out - 28+ scoring average over 139 games; a leader in assists nearly every year; all-time leader for career points; and the one player in the country responsible for getting her team to the national championship game twice. In addition to all of this she was a tremendous ambassador for women's basketball off the court - intelligent, well-spoken interviews; tireless interaction with her fan base and especially the kids; and not to be forgotten, achieving a 3.66 GPA over four years of college. No wonder she is so revered by fans and especially the Iowa fan-base. However her pro career, although productive as shown by last year's stats, hasn't achieved superstar status which has been made more clear by this year's sub-par performance. And as been stated in a previous post this year's stats bear this out. Granted, she has been injured, and also her coach for some unforeseen reason has chosen at times to play her out of position at off-guard, she simply hasn't played that well and I'm sure Caitlin would be the first to admit it. What's been surprising to me is the response to this simple critique on this board. Even the most benign negative observation of her play has been met with a deluge of irrational comments including stupid personal insults. Do I care, hell no! Expressing one's opinion based on fact is never a bad thing.

Better without Clark, Peck said. Fever lost badly yesterday at home as White took the ball out of Clark's hands. Fans are angry. Caroline Peck is White's former Head Coach at Purdue from 1999 when they won the Nat'l Championship. Later, at some point, Peck became an Associate Head Coach at Vandy where White was the Head Coach. It's possible that the two of them had a talk while CC was out IMHO. SMH. Nah. Hmmm. Nah.

So I broke down with nothing on tv and starting watching the last game. Caitlin so far looks great. Now on the bench in the 1st quarter. Obviously things go sideways from here.

Final verdict: Caitlin played pretty well, and the rest of them sucked *** that game. Just atrocious shooting and decision making. I would have thought Ari was the fever’s main point guard by how the minutes played out. Howard played like nalyssa smith. Timpson was a bright spot. The should have kept temi.

Caitlin got three quick rebounds and I thought hey, we might be scratching the surface of a trip-dub.

Of course Caitlin barely got a single-double with her 10 points. By the end of the game, having watched her stuck in the corner so much, I was wondering if she'll ever record a trip-dub again?

Some have said she stunk, I thought she was average at worst.

I thought hands down she played the best game for the fever. Watching the game I was like what in the hell is Howard doing? Just terrible attempts at one-on-one spin moves and heaving the ball toward the hoop with no chance of going in. Multiple times. Boston couldn't hit anything. Mitchell was cold. Aari is getting a little too far over her skis in terms of taking shots and trying to control the offense. All in all a **** show, other than Caitlin.

New guy on the floor.

Google "indiana fever ben newman" and select images. Oh boy, the team must have issues and he's there to help.

Howard can look quite competent at times, even very good. Then, Wednesday happens. Sometimes she lumbers so slowly you have to squint to make sure it's not N. Smith still. Flash minus the flash, I guess.

Mitchell is VERY good at driving, dodging, dipping and spinning to the rim. But this isn't gymnastics. Degree of difficulty isn't rewarded. A layup should, for the most part, be ... a layup. Needs to pass out more, imo.

Those matinee games are just plain weird. Hopefully a normal start time will juice the team a little tonight 🤷‍♂️.

It's like Howard thinks when Caitlin is on the floor she needs to make one-on-one moves and shoot whenever she gets it for whatever reason, regardless of shot selection. If she would just make cuts to the basket, Caitlin would find her for easy looks. More often than not there is a terrible chemistry issue. I do also agree Mitchell takes some unnecessarily difficult shots, but that is what makes her dangerous too. Kind of have to live with them like living with Caitlin's turnovers pushing the limits...

For sure, you have to take the good with the bad, especially when the good can be spectacular.

Sometimes when Mitchell gets the ball you just know she's gonna drive all the way. Well if we know it, the defense certainly knows it too, lol. OTOH, when the offense is in a funk sometimes you're like "Damn right, go get us a basket Kelsey!"

This team can make you bipolar. It's scientifically proven, ya know.

Is the Fever FO going to fumble the golden goose on a platter?

LOL. There is interest in your team for ONE reason only.... CC. That's it.

If any other team has the #1 pick when Clark was in the draft, then it's that team that has the "golden opportunity".

You want to win THROUGH Clark, not just with her as a "piece of the foundation". Either embrace it or move on.

We were led to believe the feve were getting such an upgrade in the FO and at HC. But shuffle these pieces as you may, in and out, if they're old guard, or old guard adjacent, then ... blah.

I mean bless their little hearts for thinking so "big picture." But at the same time maybe look at some not-so-old pictures too, arenas with entire levels draped off.

Eff your noble principles and start hawking Caitlin like you're Colonel Tom Parker. He came from the carnival tradition, so does your league. It'll work!

We just relocated from Indy area to Iowa City. Lots of chatter in Indy about CC and her future with the Fever. I think one of two things will happen. The team will entirely be blown up and rebuilt around CC. This roster has a lot of limitations in many areas, especially defensively. It’s nowhere near a championship level roster. And the Fever dont have the Big Core 3 they think they do. They play fast or slow and won’t matter as it will all wash out to mediocrity.

or CC moves on after her rookie deal. There are a couple of spots I think would be perfect and elevate a team into that top tier.

Howard is another black hole on the team. If she get the ball close to the paint, she's going to the hoop period. She had one assist on a nice feed to AB when they doubled her, and I was shocked that she actually passed the ball to someone...
