It was very disrespectful...it was a disgrace. The purpose of the ceremony was to honor WWII veterans. Any other comments distracted from that. It was disrespectful to those veterans. They are supposed to be the sole focus of the ceremony. You, as a supposed veteran, should be outraged. To add insult to injury, they didn't even bother to take down the f'ucking Andrew Jackson painting.

And why in the hell would they take down a picture of the 7th President of the US for a photo-Op? Because he commanded US troops in battle against hostile Indians in the expansion of the west? What for? Do we take down all pictures of Presidents prior to Lincoln when ceremonies honoring black people are in the WhiteHouse? It’s a retarded Point. You think taking the picture down is going to erase what happened? Like they would forget without that picture that we slaughtered their people, drove them off their lands, put them in reservations, only to slaughter them some more?
I don't think it changes what happened and never came close to suggesting we should ignore our history. Merely stated I think we could have found a better way to honor the WW2 vets.
Broke out the blankets, beads, firewater, and passed the pipe? I think the picture is a non-issue.
With that said. We can talk all day about things this admin can do better to be inclusive and gracious. No question the role these guys played in the assist of defeating Japan. Honorable people.
