He's all-powerful. Right? He can part the seas and turn a person into a pillar of salt if he wants to. Right? He created the Earth in 6 days from nothing. Right? So why does he allow a demented, evil person to formulate a complex plan, acquire an arsenal, and kill 59 innocent people and injure 500 more? Doesn't he have some compassion? Doesn't he have a sense of justice? Somebody give me an answer that doesn't involve some master plan that we're all too stupid to understand. Thanks in advance for the insightful replies.

That question you pose is a big reason why some folks choose not to believe and it's one that as a believer myself can't fully answer or understand. There is a book called Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People that helps explain it a little. It IS hard to understand though
So you're are against anyone that may have a different belief than you? If someone gets some comfort from what they believe and it's not harming anyone......why are you so against it? You appear to be just a miserable old man.
What would you have him to do RPJ, stop you or anyone else from choosing to Sin?

Suppose there was no punishment for his crime? Wouldn't that be unjust?
So non believers actually support injustice in this case, since they do not believe there is a just God who will ultimately correct this injustice.

Those who reject God's call for righteousness willingly choose to disobey his rules defining it. Rejecting his very existence and his free gift from the wages of Sin (Death) they eagerly choose his forbidden behavior described as Evil then wonder why he allows it?
Freedom from a just God is Freedom to choose. Perfect Justice holds you accountable for your choices...either to obey God's call for goodness or to reject it. If he forced non believers to obey against their will, they would merely be slaves and that would be unjust!
Since the Left hates slavery (always using it to remind America of it's original Sin) they should be happy they are allowed to freely choose their Sin. In Almighty God's Mercy, he doesn't force them to choose either way...good or Evil. That is justly their choice and they are held accountable for it consequences good or bad commensurate with each choice.
Yet they often blame a non-existent God for allowing the very Sin they freely choose, and reject the very thing he offeres to them in Justice as a free gift of Salvation from it.
I do understand why they are confused.
For those of you on the Left like RPJ confused over why Almighty God allowed this horror, try to see if you're like any of the non believers filmed here?
They are presented with irrefutable evidence that in their own minds they easily admit is pretty convincing in terms of our Creation, yet they still reject the notion of a Creator.

Yet, there was still more good in this than bad if you open your eyes and observe it.
How?
Because more lives were spared than were lost. As tragic as those deaths were, not everyone was killed. Some people saved other people's lives. Survivors will have their miracles to testify to others. Precious lives were spared and will go on given new leases on precious Life to save other lives through their testimonies of miraculous survival.
Thousands of innocent unwanted Babies are indeed aborted everyday as Brushy points out, yet also everyday Almighty God Blesses thousands and even millions more with new births...new Children...who bring unspeakable joy into the lives of their Parents and who will also grow to bring us more miraculous births and special lives.
We never run out of food to eat, or rain to water our crops, or seeds to plant them, or air to breathe, or gravity to hold everything on the planet together. We still have protection from the Sun's harmful ultra-violet radiation, we don't spin wildly out of control away from that same Sun's comforting warmth into nothingness of the vastness of the Universe and freeze to death.
Inside our bodies our cells still regenerate. We cut ourselves and our skin instantly goes into healing the open wound. We have our eyesight, sense of smell, our brains run 24/7 365 even when we sleep. Our blood still makes plasma to keep us free from harmful diseases & bacteria, and our organs function and keep most of us alive.
There is so much more good than this random act of Evil, and in Almighty God's Mercy he assures us no Evil act ever overwhelms the goodness that always comes as a result of tragedy. Evil will never overwhelm Good, because Good is controlled by Almighty God and he is beyond Evil....in charge over it.
We can choose to reject him and of course choose to follow Evil, but that will never erase his power over it, or limit our ability to reject it. We cannot be forced to do Evil. It cannot make us choose itself over goodness. It is limited in both its ability to affect us, or disturb the goodness from Almighty God that surrounds us otherwise.
So as bad as this tragedy is, there is always more hope and goodness left to overwhelm it if we simnply choose to access it.
It is always our free choice and that is perfect Justice.

That is not necessary for him to do now because Christ paid that debt for us, and his gift is freely avaialble now to all so Almighty God doesn't have to demonstrate his Mercy to save us from Sin...Christ did all that for us!
The Bible says a day is like a second to him because he is beyond our concepts of time and space. So I'm not sure it was a literal 6 days (144 hours) because our concepts of time are limited to our Earthly references.( 24 hours..one full rotation opposite our Sun) But however much time elapsed for him to create it (Universe) it surely wasn't a problem for him to do it within that time reference. That 6 day reference is something we can understand with our finite minds trying to comprehend infinity.
The same way he allows a wretched, disgusting, Life long Sinner to confess his choice to reject Evil and open his heart to Christ and his amazing saving Grace! It works on both ends. Perfect Justice.

This all might make sense if you actually believed in God. after more thought I would like to mention the concept if free will. God gives us the choice whether to sin or not. While sin may be more fun for a while there are consequences for living that lifestyle and rejecting salvation thru Jesus Christ.
