Nah, this is fine by me. If he wants to sell out the party that got him elected and hand wins off to the Dems, that's fine by me. He's just trying to head fake the GOP to action, imo though. Either way, he's making more enemies than he's gaining. Midterms will be a heavy blow, 2020 the final. Hopefully we see moderate minds on both sides figure it out.
I don't think he's selling out many of the people that voted for him. What he is doing now is why I voted for him. The "swamp" Repubs NEVER wanted him. I'm pretty sure you watched the Repub debates. You can have the likes of Mitch McConnell and friends...I don't want any part of them.

Trump thought he could play the "I'll deport the dreamers" card as leverage but it backfired. Dems called his bluff. Everyone knows it would be suicide for the GOP if they followed through.

If the current discussed deal goes through, it would be the GOP compromising yet again. It requires GOP support if only partially. It would be everything the Dems want, how are they compromising?
1: they are cooperating with Trump
2: allowing funding for border security measures (drones, etc..)
3: we don't have any idea what will have to be attached to get it through, but working with Trump to begin the process makes it possible to begin with

Merely working with the President of the United States is considered the compromise? I've got news for you bubba, we've been flying drones on the border since I was active duty, I was decorated twice for missions I led.

I'm pretty sure you were one that kept talking about how horrible it was that the Dems wouldn't even begin to work with Trump on anything.....I think that is not true, this proves it. Do you really think Shumer and Pelosi are dumb enough (I don't have much faith in their intelligence - but they know the hill well enough) to believe the GOP doesn't get something on a bill that gets through?

This is the start of the process. And they are in the oval handing Trump a mutual victory. Additional spending measures to increase the security on the level desired by the GOP and the WH, is a move towards compromise. The Dems know this isn't the only concession if they want to get it passed.

It really seems that, with all your legitimate complaints about lack of compromise and ridiculous hatred of party members based on disliking their different ideology, you just sing the same song yourself. The last time we saw GOP party policy implemented on a large scale over a substantial period.....the economy crashed, we began two wars we still can't finish, and increased our nation's debt. I like many aspects of conservative fiscal policy, and I would love to see serious reform to social welfare programs. But......if this is how the GOP works......I'd much rather they be in the minority, and more moderate voices reign on both sides.

I can only reiterate I have complete disgust for my party's lack of leadership right now. I'm just not ready to award Pelosi and Shumer a smiley face because they chose to sit down with the President. I will award them points for having a cohesive agenda and attempting to position their agenda with the President.

I think the GOP better wake up to the loose cannon they have in office. I don't think Trump is married to any singular ideal (no ****, right?). He's willing to push forward with a plan regardless of which side benefits. This is one instance I'd think you guys would be singing his praises, as it's indicative of trying to get the legislative apparatus moving for the benefit of the people. The stale mate has been bad for the nation. My number 1 issue as has been documented on this board over the last 2.5 years for the last election was getting Gov't working again. That's why my guy was Kasich. It was also my biggest criticism of Hillary and Trump. Neither's agenda or personality would bridge the divide that was created under Obama's time in office. I couldn't stand either choice and I refused to vote for either.

I do think he is deluding himself if he thinks good will on one deal with the left will see their willingness to compromise on initiatives he cares about (tax reform) down the road.

I'd have voted Kasich. Probably wouldn't have told my wife, but there's something about his ability to bridge the gap that I like.

Pelosi was just played?

Because people like you will tell themselves anything?

Eventually it will sink in with conservatives that Trump doesn't give a **** about anything but his own image and popularity, and never has and never will.

Bingo. It amazes me how and what the MAGAsphere thinks. What? Biff isn't a staunch conservative?

It's obvious that they have as per your account.
Not obvious actually. You'd have to know the details of the specific missions to determine whether the bar was lowered. You won't ever know the specifics to be able to make a definitive determination. Feel free to assume whatever you like, your uneducated opinion doesn't move the needle on my givesafvckometer

If you're getting decorated for anything having to do with drones then the bar can't go much lower.
