I'm pretty sure you were one that kept talking about how horrible it was that the Dems wouldn't even begin to work with Trump on anything.....I think that is not true, this proves it. Do you really think Shumer and Pelosi are dumb enough (I don't have much faith in their intelligence - but they know the hill well enough) to believe the GOP doesn't get something on a bill that gets through?
This is the start of the process. And they are in the oval handing Trump a mutual victory. Additional spending measures to increase the security on the level desired by the GOP and the WH, is a move towards compromise. The Dems know this isn't the only concession if they want to get it passed.
It really seems that, with all your legitimate complaints about lack of compromise and ridiculous hatred of party members based on disliking their different ideology, you just sing the same song yourself. The last time we saw GOP party policy implemented on a large scale over a substantial period.....the economy crashed, we began two wars we still can't finish, and increased our nation's debt. I like many aspects of conservative fiscal policy, and I would love to see serious reform to social welfare programs. But......if this is how the GOP works......I'd much rather they be in the minority, and more moderate voices reign on both sides.
