lol I think that many people might watch an NFL game to get away from the real world for a little while. As for me, let the political distractions at NFL games go away or at least don't give them any air time. Many of the players are famous and can make their political points off the field.

I watch the NFL partly to get away from annoying distractions like politics. But that said, it's not hard to avoid the stuff going on now. First, don't watch the National Anthem (which I never do anyway) and second when you see an article headline about someone mixing politics and the NFL, don't read it. That's it.

If Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth start talking politics on air or the NFL starts painting political slogans on the turf then I'll start worrying. Until then, just ignore it.

I'll never be against anyone's right to protest. But I never understood why the people putting the amps behind their voices don't just cut the power

Sounds to me you are against the right to protest otherwise you wouldn't react in the manner you do. Think about it if you can think.

Anyone bitching about what the nfl players are doing and then being hypocritical saying they are not against the first amendment right of self protest.
And the NFL doesn't have to hire them.

Their 1st Amendment rights don't let them say anything anywhere anytime. The NFL is a business and it can place reasonable restrictions on its employees. You're allowed to have a march on public property saying "X Is Bad" but if you do that in your workplace your boss will probably fire you.

The NFL can do as it wishes. The players can do as they wish. The fans can do as they wish.

That is correct and is why Kaepernick is not signed. Neither is Johnny Manziel. If the distraction you bring to the organization outweighs your usefulness, you won't get signed.

Not wholly true. The NFL is limited as it pertains to conduct with the players under the CBO that is effect.

News flash, they don't even televise the National Anthem every time a game is on TV, wonder why this only bugs conservative white folk? Their reaction pretty much assures there will be more protests because you are the group perceived as the problem by the protesters. Just call it fake news and move on like you do with inconvenient facts.

The NFL could attempt to say all players have to stand during the anthem. That would trigger a lawsuit with the players association and would be a huge pr nightmare. Best thing for the nfl to do is what they are doing, imo

Kap gets blackballed because the NFL, through focus groups, determined that his kneeling last year cost the NFL ratings. And now more players are kneeling because Kap is blackballed. My point was....instead of bitching about it or blackballing the man, why doesn't the NFL just not televise the anthem? Seems silly to me

A year or so ago a female pro soccer player was kneeling during the NA. In response the league started playing the NA before the players came out of the locker room.

There is no proof Kap is being blackballed through collusion of the owners. Me personally, I wouldn't base an argument over conjecture and innuendo and expect everyone to agree.

I don't know where the line is between collusion and just nobody wanting to sign him because it's not worth it. I mean, an official dictate from the NFL to not sign him is wrong. But if each team deems it more bother than it's worth then that's life.

There were rumors for awhile that the Ravens were going to sign him and they were inundated with fan requests to not do so. And they didn't. Maybe those requests had an effect.

The Jets QB situation is horrible. CK is surely good enough to play for them. And NYC isn't a conservative place that would reject his signing. So that makes you wonder. But OTOH it does matter how much money he's asking for. Even if he wasn't a NA Kneeler, if you want more money than you're worth then you may be pricing yourself out of a job.

I love it. [roll]

Get bent out of shape when some guy takes a knee during the national anthem but not bat an eye when some bigot chants "Jews must die."

It bugs me because my father and countless millions of others have fought and died for that flag, AND I'm sorry to say the right for those nfl players to be idiots.......if all those players REALLY want to make a difference then have them share some of the multimillions of dollars they are making to help ease the plight of those they are "protesting" for......they all could do with one less car,or mansion,or mistress...let them share the wealth.....that;s socialism...that should really warm the cockles of you pants suit Bernie Pocahantas loving liberals

I personally think Kap is not a good option at qb for the Jets or anyone else. I rather sign Tebow as a qb than Kap. He was ok before defenses figured out how to defend him and has absolutely sucked ever since.

If you have paid attention to my posts on the Anthem issue....you would have known that I have suggested NOT playing it at sporting events. I really see no need for it. To me, most people just go thru the motions. All I have to do is look at the Flag and pay my respects and give thanks for the great country I am fortunate to be living in. BUT if it was done away with.....these mis-guided idiots would find another way to show their ignorance......most likely at the coin flip. *** Colon Kaperdick......let him go live in Cuba if he likes it so much.

Hey douchbag, I'm not changing the subject. I'm responding to someone discussing why he may not being signed. Are you really that obtuse or just that butthurt?

CK isn't a great QB but he isn't awful either and he actually did fairly well with the 49ers last year. The Jets current options or McCown, Hackenberg and Bryce Petty, all of whom are probably worse than CK. The Jets are pretty clearly tanking this season to get a high pick in the draft (not that having CK as QB would make them win that many more games anyway). I wonder if maybe the NFL should start a draft lottery to discourage teams from tanking.

Just because he kneels doesn't mean he hates America or is a communist. It means he feels there is work to be done, and wants to symbolically show his frustration with the nation's progress in regards to race. Personally, it's his AMERICAN right to do so.....I just don't understand why so many people who hate the action TALK about the action, it just puts amps behind his voice. If owners don't want the distraction, and the league doesn't want the distraction.....but the media thinks Kap should have a job....stop talking about it.

I don't think so.
I was wrong. You were discussing the fact that owners were choosing to not bring the distraction into their orgs.....not that the league was blackballing Kap.

And you're right, it's speculation on my part. I'm usually sinister when discussing a monster org like the NFL. Doesn't make it true.

Its all getting to be a big ***** circus. Dancing, prancing, counting the number and quality of pelvic thrusts, commercials, holding on every other play, concussion discussions and can't touch the QB.

Cut the cord if you don't like cable prices. I have zero problem with ticket prices.
