Bruce will join the ranks of hated WVU football greats that don't like the program's direction.

But who cares. It's basketball season.

Hated? People absolutely love him. He's had a good career, loves to tell everyone that he's a WVU alum and donates money. That's all fans care about.

If you meant that the way I took it?

If Bruce continues to show disappointment in the program he'll catch hell here. #patwhite

All these "fans" that enjoy Bruce hammering skylar on twitter already hated and blamed skylar for every loss. #geno

If Bruce isn't discreet in his posts, he'll get the same backlash. #sad

I get you. But don't get me started on Pat. We're joking on the Blue Lot about how we all pray he doesn't chime in on this (or anything else).

Bruce's WVU team was extremely talented, at least the NFL thought so. I think he may be confusing a lack of elite talent with no heart. But what do I know, he's the player

Stupid exchange. Bruce came off as arrogant and Skyler came off as a child yapping at someone much more accomplished than him. Both should delete their accounts

Howard called out WVU fans for hearing "boos" during the season. Like he's the only player in history that got booed. Howard had heart, and played hard. But fact is, Irvin is right. If we had Grier, or equivalent type of QB, Howard would have been running the scout team. It is what it is.....no sense in sugar coating it. In our biggest games, where was he at?????

Bruce is a legend in WV.......along with Pat White......

Good riddance Skyler. Always crying and sensitive. I'm glad the Will Grier Era has begun and I side with Bruce.

Bruce shows up at random games, basketball included. He donates $$$ to the University. He constantly talks about WVU and the state of WV on Twitter. He has a WVU tattoo. He loves this place and I love him. I side with Bruuuuuuuuuce! As someone else stated, Bruce is a Mountaineer legend!

I'm against Howard here. Bruce's initial message was a backhanded comment criticizing the effort on the field during the bowl game. This has some legitimacy given the way the team rolled over in the second half. Out of line? Minimally at worst. That being said, I didn't see a specific person being called out yet Howard took it that way. Throughout his career at WVU, Howard did have some thin skin with his own backhanded comments about being booed. So he attacks Bruce's team and results on the field before behaving like a petulant child when the verbal sparring occurs. Either guy could've and should've taken the high road here, but they didn't. High road doesn't mean just taking it on the chin, but responding in a more civil, less accusatory way. Since neither did that, I have to side against who handled it worse.

Seriously?!?! Not one post yet?

Maybe I'm out of the loop here but I will comment anyway. I always fall back to the ideal of "Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer"!

Bruce was a great one. I think Sky was too, but in a different capacity. He put it all out there... wasn't great per se, but laid it out there to the best of his ability. In a bar fight, he's the guy I'd want on my side even against a Bruce Irvin. I wouldn't mind him (Bruce) on my side either.

I don't get the "whining" thing. Being "booed" is not supportive of your team's QB. It's always a team effort and a loss to Miami showed just how much that was a team collapse.

Both should simply quit the nonsense bickering and 'take one for the team' it looks bad all around and does no good for the WVU image IMO ....For Bruce to say what he did looks petty ,for Sky to take the bait looks childish. WVU helped make one into a successful NFLer...the other with many options for his future career. And yeah I recognize/appreciate how Bruce shows up often to support the program...that will never change.

And it begins. Hate to see Bruce get the pat white treatment but some of you won't be able to stop yourselves

Skyler Howard is a really tough player, but that does make him a great quarterback. He might have been great if he was 5 or 6 inches taller.
