I'm in agreement with this post. If it were me in the position, I would not push for an indictment, I would however, assign an independent prosecutor to the case and use whatever they turn up as leverage, but ultimately issue the pardon. The country needs to heal right now and come together. That has been my single most important issue in this election cycle. Bridging the gap to the left shows immediate leadership, it also puts my base and my side on notice of how we as a team will move forward with the other side. Bottom line though, the leverage would be conditional on agreement from Hillary and Bill whipping support for my initiatives and their retirement from seeking office in the future. My understanding is Obama could issue a pardon that will cover everything Clinton is being accused and that would be the end which is similar to what Ford did for Nixon . positives would be putting it behind so the country could move forward but negative would be a huge political price for the Dems. And it will tarnish Hillary and the Foundation .
I will bet you will not see a pardon and you will not see any criminal indictments over the Foundation . You will see right wingers continue with conspiracy theories and whining .
A past pardon cannot shield a person from future prosecution.Give hillary a pardon if she has not been charged or convicted yet ?

Looks like Presidential Pardon is restricted in federal cases. He has no pardon powers in state nor civil matters. He can pardon without being specific, so general description applies to any potential associated matter within a specified time frame. The question may be, which and how many pardons will he have to give her. The big one would be for the foundation, the other stuff is background noise, but the Foundation is where I think the real fire is.
The best political path for Trump concerning Hillary is a vigorous investigation not resulting in an indictment.Looks like Presidential Pardon is restricted in federal cases. The pardon should rest with Obama. Trump should not take his campaign rhetoric lightly just to give Hillary a pass. But, if he intends to charge and pardon, he should not waste taxpayer money. Just make a joint announcement with Hillary that she is forgiven and she will cease and desist in activities so described.
Draining the Swamp may restrict Trump lateral actions, but I agree that it should be put behind and grudgingly move forward. At some point, it is just the right thing to do to move on.
Trump should give pardon to all others who are being punished for similar activity and statements.
That can be done without the presumption of not guilty? Would have to think about that. I want her in forced retirement. She has been above the law too long. The best political path for Trump concerning Hillary is a vigorous investigation not resulting in an indictment.
Vindication has a way of coming back around. Unless democrats really turn on the Clintons prosecuting Hillary will prove adverse to unity. That can be done without the presumption of not guilty? Would have to think about that. I want her in forced retirement. She has been above the law too long.
I did not intend vindication. We have a constitution that says we are a nation of laws. Just because she is very high in the liberal party should not place her above the law.Vindication has a way of coming back around.
