Reminds me of those epic workouts of the 90's, the edge and attitudes were epic, it's good to see that fire burning today!

I don’t think they’ve paid off the new facility yet and now they have to repair a wall.
And that is part of the older section, you just can't match that up with new brick, going to look terrible. FVcking Kool-Aid pitcher! ;)

It would be super interesting to look at the programs that actually go to an occasional bowl game and see which ones, as part of their off-season conditioning program, have their top defensive linemen drop 50 lbs so they can wrassle

What's he supposed to do? Get stronger? Dude is already as strong as he's gonna get without steroids. Wrestling will keep him in shape and give him something competitive to do. Doubt he dropped 50 pounds as well. Maybe 15-20 which is nothing for a 300 pounder.

aka 'this year will be different. we've never worked harder, etc, etc'.
this time i actually might believe it.
(translation) ā€œlast year I basically checked out, but now I’mā€¦ā€ and the list goes on

I was just thinking about those comments. If we don’t hear the same amount of drivel as years past, we’ll know that our talent development, coaching and overall culture is better.

This is the year we get to see what Coach Campbell has. Last winter he didn’t know his guys and really could only put in base plan for the team. Reason why we probably had so many injuries. Not blaming Campbell. He was working and planning as he went last year. This year he’ll be about to really plan for each guy for what they need.

Cause it’s not just about hitting the weights. It’s playing at the right body fat. Used to be that meant keep it as low as you can. We know better now that guys break to easily when they are extremely cut. We’ve heard Rhule talk about it too. Playing at the right body fat.

Have a neighbor who was a starting corner for the lions. I see him at the gym all the time and he told me he’s the most cut he’s ever been. It surprised me so I asked him ā€œeven more than you were in Detroitā€. He laughed and said that he wouldn’t even take his shirt off in public during the season cause he played a little ā€œ doughyā€. Said you have to be to remain off the injury list. Now his version of doughy and most peoples is probably night and day.

But you look at a kid like Gabe and you see this extreme body and think wow, he’s going to be a beast. But he always breaks. People that fit can’t bend as much without snapping. Gotta find a way to stay strong, in shape but not at a level that’s high risk for injuries. Hoping Coach C has that figured out for the boys. It’s a tuff balance but has to be right or we will have injuries throughout the season.

Nice to see some more functional exercises that use a lot of muscles. With Duval they seemed to focus more on lifting heavy weights.
