The oline improvement year over year and his recruiting class has blown your "Donny sucks" narrative out of the water.
Can you post who our leading rusher was?

You can’t can you?

Curious brix doesn’t mention intern Don in his commitment post

The guy who can’t throw it, go figure. YPC, not so much, even with big runs against cupcakes factored in. 😢
Yet it looks as if he’s saved at least one guy’s job on staff and fooled plenty of dim bulbs into believing his unit “improved”

Funny

I…don’t think that’s what’s happened. The last two games are included in those fooled improvement games.

OL played well against Iowa?

Noulli was making ragdolls blush out there
They didn’t. Others are saying they did. If anything is saving Raiola’s job it’s the recruits we’re getting. Color me skeptical that they’ll be coached well and live up to the hype.

It was HH by around 50 yards.

Who lead the team in turnovers? Let me guess, getting the ball ripped from his hands wasn't his fault.

What’s that have to do with the OL being hot crap and our quarterback producing yards and wins despite that fact?

How many unnecessary sacks did HH take?

The team with the 2nd most rushing yards in the big 10 is hot crap? That's one hell of a take.

We only had 75 yards rushing against Iowa lol

What is Iowa's rush defense ranked? Did they have to worry about defending the pass? Did any team? 8 man boxes all year, still the 2nd most rushing yards in the big 10. Despite terrible qb play from three different dudes.

Oops sacks don’t count against rushing yards in college football

Yea dude. We averaged what 170 yards/game?

Did we even finish in the top 30 nationally?

None of those things are victory lap worthy

Nope, they kill drives just like fumbles and interceptions. Who led the team in those things again?

170 yards a game against eight man boxes with no passing game to speak of. I know you love stats but you got to add context.

I’m not sold on him with this offense. We don’t have an identity. They still can’t pass block the edges. If it were an actual power run scheme he’d be ok but he’s part of one of the shittiest offenses ever and as has been mentioned, these are almost all very experienced 4 star players across the line already. It really should’ve looked better. I don’t see it working out.
I know the word "identity" is being thrown around a lot. I think most defensive coordinators we played against might argue that our offensive "identity" was very clear.

We had 2 qbs who had turnover issues and were not exactly Dan Marino accurate when they did throw the ball.

Hence, we ran it, a lot, which normally would be fine but we also had many injuries on the offensive line and running backs who also turned the ball over. Made for some tough sledding.

I think, if we can have an accurate passing and dependable quarterback back there, teams won't be able to stack the box and we will look like a much better team.

I think if they can continue to develop Purdy, he showed great promise. We'll see if they can pick up a proven qb in the portal.

I do agree that some of Satts calls were a bit puzzling like passing when he should have been running.

It sucks that were not in a bowl again but I'm gonna be looking forward to next season, trusting that our coaches don't screw up their quarterback selection, like they did this year with Sims.

Do you think the teams that ran for 200+ per game faced prevent all day long or something?

I agree about context. You could use some.

Go ahead and break down the run defenses of those teams for us

Two hundred yards a game? the offensive line was blocking their asses off those games.

Guys want to point to our run game as evidence of our OL improving but can’t bring themselves to mention our top rusher?

Yea, context isn’t welcome when it comes to narratives

Carry on, numbskull. You have zero interest in reality. Only fantasy.

2nd, by like 100 yards. My bad.

Points remains that same. I'm sure you as a football coach realizes that's hard to do facing 8 man boxes all year long.
I do. And I agree. I was just shocked that our abysmal offense was ranked that highly. I assumed we were dead last in about every offensive category.

I wasn't being facetious.

Jamey Chadwell's team led the country in rushing this year

in year 1 with all new players to he and his staff

not my fault you eschew the truth as being "unserious"

What does jeremy chadwell will have to do with nebraska's offensive line?

Did he lose his top 2 running backs early in the season.

Did he have a competent quarterback that was able to complete passes down the field and help his offensive line out?

he's a good coach.

simply adding context so people know what actual success on the ground can look like in year 1 (295 yards/game)

that's what you asked for, yes? context?

Color me not impressed by the running game this year. This was perhaps the most frustrating thing for me this year. Doesn't mean we didn't make the best of a bad situation. I can understand both ends of the issue. Truth lies in the middle as always. There is a reason AG was 3rd on the depth chart this year, and EJ was 4th. HH did good until he couldn't run with the same tenacity. Sims had a couple long runs. Purdy had some good designed runs and scrambles, but at the end of the day, our RBs never got loose. Rarely ran through tackles, rarely made it past 10 yards without falling down. Is that the O Lines fault? Maybe, but I also don't think we had great RBs. Constantly missing the hole or picking the wrong one. Lack of vision. We also had QBs who repeatedly made the wrong reads with zone read, clunky mesh points, pulling the ball or not pitching the ball only to get stuffed.

So yeah, you can pin it all on the OLine and the OLine coach, but across the board, the team was not good.

their quarterback completed 58% of his passes this season, 6% more than ours combined to complete. 3 more completions per every 50 attempts.

their top back is a 5'7" transfer from wake forest

we faced a common opponent - La Tech

Liberty ypc: 6.8
Nebraska ypc: 6.5 - by far our best game rushing all season

I'm not sure Liberty has a single 4* player on their team, and certainly none on their OL
