Exactly what happened on Sims' last pick. After the INT, Sims threw his hands up a bit almost as if, "Why wasn't my WR there?" even though the intended WR was covered the entire time with the safety hanging out over the top.

Players have to execute what they are coached, but coaches have to realize when how/what they are coaching isn't working. Rhule has said as much when it comes to the turnover issues and he has been trying different things to get it fixed. I'm confident he will. I haven't had that confidence in a Nebraska staff in a LONG TIME.

How does it feel to live in a state of constant pessimism and negativity. Except when it comes to HH that is.

D has been solid all season. O line has been held together with spit and glue and has improved. RB's have improved. EJ has at least. Young WR's have played well. Been blocking great and running wide open. All our QB's have regressed. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why we are losing these close games. QB's. Period.

Sadly, I think it’s just that simple. QBs turning the ball over every which way possible, QBs not seeing open receivers down field, QBs not stepping up in the pocket(ever), QBs making bad reads in the RPO game, QBs not catching the freaking snap etc… Occasionally they get some help, Grant will fumble or our WRs will drop a ball. But it really seems that most of our issues on offense are, in one way or another, directly tied to QB play.

I resist the excuse that an interception happened because a receiver ran the wrong route. If he isn't open, you're just praying he does. And by wrong route do you mean 20 yards downfield?
Our interceptions aren't a guy making a break on a ball, they are 30 yard passes to a guy 20 yards away.

We'd be better off putting a RB or WR out there instead, and just run wildcat every play.

If Sims plays, we are guaranteed 3-5 turnovers.

Just punt, play field position, and let the defense try to win it.

If I were coach for one day, that's exactly what I'd do. Wildcat every play. We don't have a QB that we can trust to take care of the ball. Just run it. The Wisc D would eventually have to "load the box" and then we could try to slip a TE out for a long pass 2 or 3 times. The end result couldn't be any worse than what we've seen the past 2 weeks.

Yep. Either you've got what it takes, or you don't. I think Satt's history of producing less than mediocre offenses speaks for itself. Seriously, when one takes a look at the offenses Satt's produced at his previous 2 OC gigs, one has to wonder WTF Rhule sees in him? It tells me that Rhule isn't the guy.

Great HC hire the best assistants they can find. The others hire their friends. We got the latter.

it's mostly the latter

2. Oregon - last OC left to be the HC at ASU
3. UNC - last OC left to be OC at Wisc
5. UGA - last OC left to be OC for Baltimore Ravens
7. Liberty - entirely brand new coaching staff
8. UCF - last OC left to be OC at UNC

Friend = any sort of prior personal relationship.

Huskers.com lists 10 assistant/coordinator coaches on Rhule's staff. 8 of those 10 had either played for Rhule or had coached under him at one of his previous gigs. There are only 2 that I could find no personal connection previously with Rhule - Martin, the TE coach; and Raiola, the O-line coach.

To be clear, I'm obviously not saying there's anything wrong with hiring assistants with whom you have a personal relationship with, so long as they are really good at what they do (and are the best you can get). What is concerning (and brings back memories of Billy C and his foolish hiring of Cosgrove) is when the HC hires a friend whose track record is not remotely close to good for what I can only assume is because he personally knows the guy.

It just sickens me. For 1.4 million, I have no doubt whatsoever that Rhule, had he wanted to, could have hired someone much better to coach the offense.

What I learned most from Rhule's pc was I finally got a good explanation why Haarberg is missing wide open receivers. Per Rhule, HH is throwing to a spot where he thinks they are rather than "intentionally" throwing it directly to the receivers. Hey! HH, stop over thinking it and just throw the ball to your receiver.
