Like USC-Washington. The lines block, the backs run for chunks, the QBs are accurate, the receivers get open and catch the ball, the plays like screens and draws work. Depressing.

We've gotten so far behind, not just top teams but competent teams, it'll be a miracle to even get back above average. Certain people in the AD from the oughts should be brought up on criminal charges.

Watching bama/lsu and michigan/purdue

So strange to see how football is meant to be played.

Y1 of a needed rebuild, calm down. We don't have a QB and our offense is decimated by injury. It's always been about where we are in Y2 or Y3. Need to get a real QB in the portal to have a chance.

One good QB, not even great, just good, would be nice and go a long way to winning games like today and Minny.

Huskers are playing with one hand tied behind their backs right now with no QB. It is what it is. Can't expect the defense to keep the opponent to single digits every game.

Yeah, I had been saying for freakin years that we don’t look like we were playing the same sport as the top teams.
But, at least now our defense looks like they are playing football. Our offense needs a QB and OL that aren’t fat slow and can’t block

And a line that is average at best on a good day. Receiver's with no experience.....etc.

I’m beginning to believe the fans of other big 10 teams that say we should go back to the big 12. Watching this USC-Washington game I think Nebraska and the rest of Big ten west is much closer to battling for championship in the future big 12 conference than they are to finishing in top 8 of new Big Ten.

Certainly in the last decade, poor recruiting, poor coaching, losing records have caught up with us.

The quickest way out is to start winning the games we’re supposed to and stealing a few games we are underdogs in to get where we want to be.

I think we are seeing signs of improvement this year under Rhule in year 1. We beat NW, Illinois, and Purdue - teams we would have lost to under Frost. Probably should have beaten Minnesota. Should have been more competitive against Colorado and Michigan State.

And USCs QB just gave up a one hand on the ball fumble that cost SC 7 pts. Looks familiar.

Yeah it appears that even mid level teams seem to play quicker, are more explosive and physical. Not sure what it is but we just look slow and no sense of rhythm.

It'd be acceptable if we were pushing teams around and dominating but most times the offense looks lost.

I can't disagree but by next year we will look totally different. That last third of or schedule next year looks daunting.

Offenses tend to look better when you have a QB.

No joke we better get off to a 6-1 start because that last 5 games look real daunting especially if Iowa builds an offense to match D and special teams.

I like your optimism but first we need talented athletes who can execute like those teams. Not sure how realistic that is but I see they’re doing OK in places like Manhattan and Columbia so it’s possible Rhule can make us respectable too….

It is possible but like I said in another post, we have to start winning more games. Better athletes don’t want to play on a losing program. Win and the recruits will come!

Very likely fighting for bowl eligibility will be a norm for the Huskers going forward. These teams are miles ahead of the huskers and we don’t do NIL right it appears

USC vs Wash has not a shred of defense. Unreal.
2 second year coaches. 38-7 conbined. I'll take it. And washington was 4-8 two years ago. What do both have? A QB that belongs in Power 5. Matt has some work to do. And I'm pretty sure that USC's qb didn't have a loss against Adams Central. Get a stud from the south and it would go a long way. What do we do? Bank the future on Kaelin Deboer. LOL.
