I think Minnesota and Wisconsin are way over valued and Illinois is being undervalued, I have no clue about Iowa.
I will go with the following in the west:

1. Illinois
2. Iowa (YUK)
3. Wisconsin
4. Minnesota
5. Nebraska
6. Purdue
7. Northwestern

You can flip every team 2 through 5 and it wouldn't surprise me one bit 6 and 7 are almost guaranteed.
The thing Wisconsin has going for itself is an easy front end of the schedule which gets a little harder later on.

7-5 was my prediction as well. The first 2 games will tell a lot.

seems a little optimistic were only favored in 4 games for the year but we are do for some good luck and a couple one score wins so I can see it

The key to beating Illinois, Ioway and Minnesota is winning the turnover battle.

All three have really good defense teams, none of the three scare me on offense and I still think Minnesota has the better offensive talent compared to the other two teams..

I think there is little separation for the west teams (minus NW) and an injury at a key position will be big. I think someone mentioned Iowa's qb is already banged up. MN's qb has an injury history and is supposedly banged up too.

I think Fickell is a good coach but they clearly aren't the Wisconsin team that people remember.

7-5 wouldn't suck but I am predicting 8-4...

Wisky is getting a lot of love because they have been the class of this division...somebody has to win it..and Fickell killed it at his last stop (He literally got Cincy an invite to the Big 12)...their schedule blows. It's the old NCAA tournament dilema...if you say "so and so should have got in"...you gotta take somebody out....and Wisky is the easiest program to make a case for the win the West. So if not Wisky...who?

I would guess 7-5 this year with better things to come. If we are simply more disciplined than we have been over the past number of years (i.e., drive killing procedure or holding calls & fewer turnovers) and play to our strengths, it should lead to 3-4 more wins. We will win some games we aren't favored to win this year. Going to be close games especially against the B1G west.

I, also, agree with what others have said about Wiscy. They have new coaches with completely different schemes offensively and defensively. Why would people think their players would have the new schemes mastered so quickly as to not have an off year where they make mistakes also? Fickell is a good coach, but so is Matt Rhule. And NU has out recruited every team in the west division for years.

People love Fickell and the qb from SMU. Never watched him. He barely saw the field at OU, I think he threw 70 passes in 3 or 4 years. Then tore it up last year at SMU.

11-1 .. our schedule is a joke. We win the close games.

Mary - W
Wisky - W
Iowa - W
Here is a thing that makes your prediction winnable. Per class ranking average we will have as much or more talent than every team on the schedule except Michigan. If we could somehow beat Minnesota and win every other game we are favored in we will likely be 11-1 or 10-2 because as those wins keep piling up we will be favored in more of them. The only exception would be Colorado. If both win our first games Colorado could be favored in the second game.

I love your enthusiasm. But I've been so beat down year after year of Frost and Riley teams I'm very cautious. Baby steps. If Rhule goes 11-1 give him a lifetime contract ASAFP!!

Either way.. the bar is stocked back up enough to endure another frost-like season

Everyone would Love this, reality will be less but yes, the schedule is a benefit this year...

Timing being everything DONU needed a schedule like this to built confidence with... especially with what's coming in the next year or two... could be just what the program needed at just the right time...

imagine trying to start a new regime with our recent history with what's coming down the line... that would've been bad

That is what you drink during games?

#BadAss

I don't drink a ton of whisky/bourbon/scotch, do you ever mix yours or just add ice?
I like a good old fashioned as well. I wouldn’t use anything in my picture for one though.. typically basil hayden, makers etc ..

I won't freak out but 6-6 is expected. I tend to agree with Kong on this one don't expect Rhule to contend but he should go bowling. Y2 is when the expectations go up.

I hesitate to say it but CU looks like a HS team. I don't care if they fight each other every day, or whatever Coach Prime preaches, they don't look like they lift weights. We'll see how they do vs TCU.

8-4 or 9-3

With this schedule... much improved offensive line play + Sims not missing more than a week and it could be even better. I have a feeling our defense could give us a shot in every game, similar to 2021, but we all know how that still played out.
