I was high on this opinion until recently. We definitely see positive things this game and rest of the year, but I think this close loss costs us a chance at the division.we are not losing to MN.
Well, I am going to be in Boulder for the game. Somehow one of my Nebraska friends who lives in Denver came-up with some more tickets to the game. Another Nebraska friend is flying in from his home in Phoenix so we will be in the stands. Hope it won't be like it was the last time. Some of the former Husker defensive backs who are now playing solid ball in the NFL were getting their *** kicked that day.
New everything, expectations are going up, a Sims injury away from chaos, opening on the road, etc. Not that we can't win, but if I had to bet I'd have to put my money on Minnesota.

I think it would be tough to say breaking our 6 year bowl-less streak, longest in D1, would be a colossal failure. Not going bowling would be a colossal failure - going bowling is the absolute minimum expectation.

we play 1 team that lost to the big12 runner up last year. that's it
I agree - but looking at last year’s schedule we could have said the same thing with the exception of Oklahoma (who ended up not being amazing). Point is we have made weak schedules look like world beaters. It needs to change.
I assume that changes weekly as the season progresses but if you took it as gospel....they believe we're going to be better.
I'm calling my shot and saying we will beat them by at leat 20. People seem to forget, they lost their entire starting OL to graduation and no eligibility left for one and Tanner Morgan is gone as well as their top 2 receivers.we are not losing to MN.
Not sure where you get your info. We didn’t lose the entire OL, we return 2 starters. We didn’t lose our top two receivers, we actually return both of them(Jackson and Spann-Ford) and get Autman-Bell back from injury and added two transfers who both have been named to the preseason Belitnokoff watch list. It is unarguably our best group of WR in Fleck’s 7 seasons. You’re right about losing Morgan even though he lost the starting job the last 5 games last year to a much better QB in Kaliakmanis.
So with all of this, will it be more painful when we smoke you at your home base?

I haven't predicted a winning record for the Huskers in 8 years. Biggest difference is this year we have adult leaders in charge. Nebraska fans are going to be shocked how fast things have changed.
Nebraska will win at worst 7 games, and I think 9 is a possibility. For this, my official prediction I say we finish at 8 wins during the regular season and finish 2nd in the BIG TEN West.
I say our defense will finish in the 25th-35th range for scoring defense. I see Coach White being a VERY HOT commodity come November. Blackshirts will have the best season in a very long time.

We need to replace a lot of production from a pretty bad offense last year which doesn't bode well considering the cause of the bad offense is still here(oline and coach), and the saviors of the bad offense(palmer and thompson) are gone. Super soft schedule but we will start 0-2, then bounce back to 2-2 at home before struggling through the big 10 schedule. Wins against Northwestern and Maryland at home means 4 wins. Any injuries at qb, in the secondary, or WR and we might win 2 or 3. Hang in there until middle of the way through next season, should start to see a middle of big 10 team by then.

Rhule is taking over a very bad team...lost most of its production from last year on both sides of the ball. The temptation is to say that it doesn't matter when bad teams lose production, but we won 4 games mostly because of the guys who are now gone. When 30 guys play and you can only point to a few who are reliable that doesn't bode well for the near future. Rhule doesn't have a career winning record as a head coach so he isn't a miracle worker, and he didn't fill out his staff with homeruns or no brainers. He is a great salesman, and he knows he can keep criticism down longer saying the right things and he is remarkable at that. Literally nothing has happened though that would portend a quick turnaround. Recruiting was consistent with Bo, Riley, Frost in their first cycle, spring game was a dud, we've had annoying transfers and quiet quitting that has hurt depth at least. Do I think we became decent...sure, but not this year.

We are going to win more games than any season in 6 years with a poor running team, a qb that will complete 55% of his passes, and no standout wrs? We had one of the best Wrs in the nation last year, a quality qb and struggled on offense.
