Whatever…said it a gazillion times. Live in Lincoln, season ticket holder, first game vs WF in 1970, graduated from the UI. I’m sure I’ll need to remind you again someday. Carry on

Is this about Rapinoe, or the claims they can’t beat U15 boys teams? Stay on point Quellas
Since you did not read my, “dribble”, I will try for you once again. Hopeless I am sure, but here I go.

Instead, just read post 3 in this thread by @Laner2 , then post 15 by me, all, “dribble”, I know, but read them anyway.

I thought I made a cogent argument.

You are not good at reading, or are too ensconsed in your own “echo chamber”, that all you have is an agenda to support, and no unique thinking involved.

Carry on herky.

Iowa Sucks. They dribble when they do.

That's why they borrowed all of K State's power towels.

Between concluding that the university has to apologize to Maryland volleyball for Neb fans reaction to them kneeling during the anthem and changing the mascot - we have the most woke athletic director in all of college sports

"I am disappointed that some of our fans would react that way, and apologize to the Maryland volleyball program," Alberts said.

RedMichelle - you hate Matt Rhule now that he’s a white supremacist?

You’re better known for being on a Herky board.. Correct?
Probably historically, knew many of the staff personally. That has waned with time. Frankly since rivals sold it’s a dreadful , dreadful free board. Peek at this one more

Hair color has nothing to do with it. It is the disrespect a certain purple hair has coming out of her mouth.

As I said earlier, she does not embody the ideals I personally hold dear as an American.

Shut up and kick the ball!
Didn't say I like her, just curious why so many go with these stupid colors for their hair.

Rarely do you see a beautiful woman dye her some odd color. The females who dye their hair some bright color are shouting for someone to notice them.

Makes sense

What is your perspective of our “rivalry” with iowa?

Have you ever seen a fistfight between Nebraska and iowa fans?

The overwhelming evidence points to it being extremely (entirely?) one-sided, but you seem qualified to weigh in

My girl dyes it pink.
I think she is lovely. I have a pink big toenail, and I am proud of it. It is her, “brand”, on me we tease.

Dale Bozzio dyed her hair blue.
Long, short, pink, blue, is all cool.

Nothing about the way Rapinoe conducts herself as leader of Women’s soccer is cool.

I have not witnessed a fist fight b/w any fans anywhere. The most belligerence I’ve personally experienced has been from drunk cheese heads. I was hit with a flying object at Michigan once- Apple not directed at me, but the Iowa section. And there were some KU fans that tossed some corn kernels at us during a shellacking Neb was giving them in Lawrence one year - 😂

My perspective is Nebraska is indeed a rival for Iowa, but it skews towards people on the western fringe of the state west (where population is very sparse). Wisconsin and Minnesota, which I don’t expect to make sense on this board, are much, much higher on the list. Iowa state too. Nebraska seems more of an annoyance because of the persistent perceived disrespect.

It’s the worst part about NU joining the B1G for me, admittedly with a a guy with an unusual split allegiance.…the history and proximity Iowa has with the other 3 is going to take Nebraska a 1/2 generation to supplant any of them.

From a Nebraska fan perspective, there’s a there, there regarding Iowa . 10 years ago Iowa was scoffed at(still is). It was pervasive from LJs and OWH journalists to this board, deeming them unworthy of any rivalry status . Yet, a little over a decade in, no opponent garners as much attention or discussion as Iowa…..at the water cooler, media, message boards, Twitter, country club etc.

With expansion, and hopefully meaningful games, I think a mutual ‘appreciation will someday be realized.

I miss playin OU and Mizzou mostly, and other Big 8s..and Texas.

Realignment was great and awful for this Nebraska fan

I couldn't agree more. Having grown up in a Husker season ticket household I have been a fan since birth. Due to my own athletics Iowa was a much better fit and as a result I became a Hawkeye but always had the Huskers as a close second.

It was an easy position prior to NU joining the B1G and the birth of the rivalry. For the last 30+ years I have been in Omaha for the Black Friday game and always get together with Husker friends to watch the game. Pre-B1G it was awesome, back to my Husker roots, everyone on the same side of the game. Now it is still a great time, I am the lone Hawkeye but everyone has a good time. Sure one side is disappointed at the end of the game but that quickly subsides as we are all friends and that is bigger than the "rivalry".

I also agree that while there is a perception that the Iowa side builds this rivalry into more than it is I don't think that is actually the case. The Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin games mean so much more based on longevity if nothing else. I think the reason the Husker game seems to mean more is it is always the last game of the year and as such appears to have bigger implications as it will often determine division winner or bowl location. We will see if that continues with the new additions/schedules/no divisions.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing

@SWIowahawks still looking for evidence Nebraska fans “despise” iowa fans

Seems apathy and friendliness overwhelmingly rule based on months of data collection. Many root for both teams even.

I’m sure you won’t have to go too far to find an iowa fan who despises Nebraska fans ;)

The coaching and tactics are nowhere near a world class level for this USWNT squad. It's terrible and been that way for a while. They will be lucky to advance in the next round and truthfully, deserved to go home today if not for the post saving them. Even if they somehow fluke into winning the whole thing, they need to move on from this coaching staff, they're the anchor.

What a sport. A scoreless tie game considered a "win". Should have a wrestling match at the end to determine winner if tied

We would have a 6th national title if some would have had the situational awareness to understand that in some circumstances a tie will accomplish your ultimate goal just fine

I admit, I know little about this squad beyond their bitching for "equal" pay.
But is it really the coaching and tactics? Or is the team 1) quite long in the tooth and 2) simply being caught by these other countries that are now giving a **** about women's soccer and not allowing us to steamroll sub par competition.

I fully admit it could be coaching and tactics but I think theres quite a bit of 1&2 also.

I agree with you, but they also drink way too much Bud Lite these days too. It has effect both on their play, and on fan support.

No one likes a team with a boozy image playing all hungover.
