When they played Viet Nam last night about four had their hands across their chests for the National Anthem.

Rapino can eat **** and bark at the moon. Phenomenal player and total douchenozzle at the same time.

I still hope we win. It's our national team after all. **** if I'm rooting for another country over Murica.

That being said, watched a 4 minute "highlight" video of win over Vietnam. 3-0. If that's the best they can do they are in for it.

And Rapinoe can **** off and is so past any prime she had. Team is old as **** and it shows.

If they don't win this World Cup that no one watches do we get to stop hearing them ***** about "equal" pay?

Guarantee you a couple million more people watched an old Messi debut for MLS Miami team than watched them play.

All the MLS stuff is behind a paywall on Apple TV.

Jesus it will always be something. Get pissed when someone kneels because they dont stand (Which was a soliders idea). Get pissed when they stand but dont put their hands over their heart. This isnt the pledge. Its just an excuse to root against Americans because a few might not believe in the same things you do. These are world class athletes wearing a USA jersey, instead of looking for reasons to root for failure why not just continue to ignore it (womens sports)per usual?

They are forcing an agenda most do not agree with.

Leave politics out of sports. I hope they lose in embarrassing fashion.

They are embarrassing USA, and International Soccer at the same time.

I will cheer for a team that embodies values held dear to most Americans. This team does not.

First time in my life I am actively hoping a National team fails.

They do not represent my values as an American.

Well, I watched the highlights on YouTube?
Didn't know MLS was that dumb. Hey not many Americans are into your sport let alone your so-so league. Uhhhhhh, paywall! Kind of dumb. Guess it was a payday of sorts for them.

Agree. They are still Americans. I will root for them.

Now the "equal pay" bs that they took to court and had proven in a court of law they were paid MORE than the men's team, and they still beat that drum? That I don't like. Be genuine and try to get more women to watch your sport, THAT will lead to bigger paydays down the road.

This looks no different from any sporting event I have ever watched. Some sing along, others put hand on heart, some stare down at the ground. I just dont get the faux outrage over any of this.

If Nebraska was as good in women’s soccer as they are in volleyball then all the volleyball enthusiasts would be huge soccer fans

Yeah I question that too. MLS is an inferior product to so many leagues that are on cable as it stands. Making it more difficult to watch is certainly counterproductive at best. I would pay to watch Messi play in person even at 35 though. Having one of the best to ever play the game in our country is pretty cool and maybe it will elevate the league but I am highly skeptical.

A typical response from a suspicious poster that ignores the facts.

Our Volleyball team is not spouting politics everytime a mic is open.

I still firmly believe you are a troll, or a plant.

For an allegedly new poster, you know too much about the history of this board.

You arenot what you claim to be in my opinion

I will clarify. The same passion for NEBRASKA women’s soccer as exists for VB would be present if they were consistently one of the best in the nation. The disdain for US women’s soccer would still exist.

No one would give 2 ***** about VB if we weren’t a premier program

Cool, clarify furthur how a new poster of 13 months knows about things that happened here 10 years ago?

I knew your take on VB was garbage, but what about your knowledge of board members far earlier than your date of membership.

I joined in 2006, a glitch says I was a later participant here.

What is your excuse?

But they are, and they have been, so what’s your point? You’re a lot of fun at parties

Rewatch how the Vietnamese players were fully involved in their national song and then look at the Americans. Some of the Vietnamese players have to have additional jobs because their pay is so low, yet they can't display their love of country enough. Contrast with the Americans. Which group is more passionate for their country? Stop the virtue signaling long enough to be objective.

As long as you are consistent in you faux outrage. This happens everyday in every sport. Be pissed about this if you want but if this gets you riled up there aren't gonna be many sports/teams/athletes to watch. Yes athletes from other countries may display more "patriotism", but when comparing how Americans act vs Vietnamese it may say more about the government in charge of each place than anything else.

I just have ideas that some do not like.
I am also easily provoked, and react.
I also have a good memory.

I am still learning, but my ideals are not much changed.

I live in a State that votes Republican 65-35 every Presidential election.

We also voted overwhelmingly for legal marijuana.

I am a long time Alaskan living the contradiction.

You read WAY too much into what I posted. Not outraged but if I were it'd be genuine. This same team in 2018 or 2019 was pictured with everyone with their hands on their chest. What changed? And you may have missed my biggest point.....those American players live a lifestyle most around the world envy but most of them are too self-important to show their gratitude. The Vietnamese players, not anywhere near the wealth but they sure love them some Vietnam.
