What % is the athletic budget vs academic? I don’t know, I am not there. I would suspect the academic $$ are close to 100 times the athletic.Trading our football program for some research dollars to study "cutting edge ideas", fun.
That's what I'm worried about as our football program is sent into irrelevance by a conference full of people that want nothing more than to so us fail. Sure we have the toughest schedule in the conference and we just got hosed on national television yet again, but some guy is studying something cutting-edge somewhere, so it's all worth it......
You are struggling with this one. Probably because you don't have any real experience with it. I do. The minute we joined the big 10 I never had to worry about missing a game again.this must be coming from a voice inside your head again, because I most certainly didn't say it.
you do strike me as a Goes to Bar to Stream TV on His Phone type, however.
it is PPV for that bar in FL, just like it's PPV for you streaming your subscription to BTN+ or for anyone outside the B1G footprint to access BTN in the first placeYou are struggling with this one. If I was in a bar in Florida and the NU game was on PPV would you beg the bartender to order PPV? For 1 person? How about if the bar doesn't have the downhill skiing network or whatever weird channel Big 12 games were sometimes on?
LOL. Cant tell if sarcasm or not. The NERVE of Nebraska to be an actual SCHOOL!Trading our football program for some research dollars to study "cutting edge ideas", fun.

The terror of it!!!
Yes, as I've already stated, I think we would not have sucked nearly as badly had we stayed in the Big 12. I think it's much more likely that the common denominator of being in the B1G and all the negative stuff that came with that is to blame than 3 coaches in a row just being bad at their job.
But, I also acknowledge that's somewhat subjective on my part, so I'm willing to set that piece of the argument aside. Even without that, I (and others) have mentioned several other aspects of being in the B1G that have sucked. And I've still yet to see one person list one thing that has been positive about it.
Don't forget the Longwhorn network. People have such fond memories of the Big 12 and seem to block out all the fighting and dysfunction. For god's sake they couldn't even get buy in on a conference TV network. Funny how schools literally bolted in every direction at the first sign of trouble. But somehow it was the greatest conference ever.
| | Revenue | Approximate payout per school |
|---|---|---|
| Big Ten | $845.6 million | $58.8 million - x |
| SEC | $802 million | $49.9 million |
| ACC | $617 million | $37.9 to $41.3 million |
| Pac-12 | $580.9 million | $37 million |
| Big 12 | $480.6 million | $42 to $44.9 million |
Are you serious? I'm going to bow out after this because you are obviously trolling.it is PPV for that bar in FL, just like it's PPV for you streaming your subscription to BTN+ or for anyone outside the B1G footprint to access BTN in the first place
in Omaha, is BTN free? or is it part of a premium cable package (PPV)?

We are paying our head coach 8 million dollars a year. Think about that. We didn't stop trying. Bad decisions were made regarding hires. Big 10 had nothing to do with that.I care about our football program and I am not OK with selling it out and watching it die for money. Not sure why you would be.

So as long as everyone is forced to get naked and touch their teammates' genitals, this is all good clean fun?Hazing happens EVERYWHERE. Hazing is part of sports IMO. Hell in high school freshman got swirlies, stink bombs in lockers etc... It builds comradery if it is happening to everyone. If it is directed a one or two kids then I get it, but that is not "Hazing" that is bullying. I just don't get how Hazing is so bad, as if it is part of the culture?
I guess where I am going with this is how is it a "Fireable" offense?
In which big ten stadium will the most mock dry humping take place when NW visits?
Wisconsin?
I haven't lived in NE for 19 years, so yes, I am serious. Are you serious? I'm going to bow out after this because you are obviously trolling.
Yeah it's free. It got added to the standard cable package in all Big 10 areas.
If you have the Big 10 network you can login to the app. Anywhere. That is the point. At the inlaws in BFE and no TV? BTN app. On vacation in Idaho? BTN app? At a wedding? BTN app.
How is it PPV? PPV is by the game and then you have to order those individual games.I haven't lived in NE for 19 years, so yes, I am serious.
I live outside the B1G footprint, so it's not included for me.
it's PPV and thus so is the app.
I must pay to view. How is it PPV? PPV is by the game and then you have to order those individual games.
If you upgrade your cable package then you are always good to go anywhere there is cell or internet service. I once logged into a computer in a hospital waiting room and watched the Husker game while my wife's grandma was in the hospital (before I had a smart phone). That is the power of BTN.
Most Husker fans don't like to admit it, but we helped cause all of the uncertainty of the B12. Had we stayed the conference would have been just fine without Missouri, ATM (and possibly Colorado). Once we dipped, the B12 really suffered. Even if Texas still ruled the roost, Nebraska/OU would have been second in the pecking order. Now we're not even in the mix.The fallacy is thinking something was going to happen that didn’t happen. We lost the game of chicken. Plain and simple. Had the Big 12 actually dissolved, then I’d buy that argument and say it was a good decision because we didn’t have any other choice. But we did. And we lost.
Amazing timing by the B1G on this one. Have a scandal, get called up to work for the Conference.
Check that, think he's done before the day is over. Look at this update.
Minnesota's hockey coach was diddling kids for decades, University covered it up (the B1G way)So Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, Penn St have all had "incidents".... Am I missing any other schools
Racism count??So Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, Penn St have all had "incidents".... Am I missing any other schools
You must be a nw & B1G fan.. I’m laughing at all of itThis thread is overdue for being ended.
Embarrassing.
Yeah forgot about Iowa and their dipshitteryRacism count??

Now you finally come out of the closet not even living in the surrounding states..I haven't lived in NE for 19 years, so yes, I am serious.

Really!
Thank you. It's not the conference's fault that we made really bad hires
