Well, at least Nebraska is still recruiting Dylan (as of course they should). Coaches Sat and his Uncle visited him recently in Arizona to continue recruiting him. But so did the Georgia coaches.

Never stop never stopping. Be 1st in line when he transfers out of UGA or USC.

He's solid UG! USC 2nd and DONU possibly 3rd.

It appears he has not said yes to a school yet...might as well keep trying. It is like an 80's rom-com, when it was totally okay for the boy to continue to pursue the girl until he finally wins her over.

We need a thread specifically designated DR., stickied at the top until he commits. This way everyone can check it daily, weekly, or such and keep up with the latest news... Just a thought.

It’s kinda like Three’s Company. Except we’re Mr. Furley. We’re not even Jack or one of the Hot Chicks.

Update - still Georgia bound - but we may still get him in for an official visit

NIL being pulled from Thompson is being put into the Dylan fund

Tough love after his most recent visit and the conversations surrounding the spring game may have at least provided a flicker of hope - also note that there is less smoke than a month ago concerning alternative 2024 QB recruits

I hope this reengagement is in good faith and he isn’t just stringing us along in order to add a little drama for a hat selection ceremony

Feels like we are constantly getting jacked around by this kid. It’s irritating. Seems like he doesn’t want to be a Husker, so go to Georgia and ride the pine. Let’s get a guy that wants to be here and bleeds for the team.

It’s ok to say this about many recruits, we’ve been saying it to an extent about Ajay Allen as well… but I don’t think you can say this about Dylan Raiola. You go after him until he’s signed on the dotted line somewhere else.

It may annoy some fans, but oh well.

Yes. Even if 99% Georgia you put in your best effort to be a solid #2 just in case something happens at the last minute - Georgia coaches go NFL - scandal - life event where he wants to be closer to family etc etc

Obviously you are plugged in somehow… last time I reacted to you posting this news with nothing to support it. I go back and forth on whether you are a husker fan or not, but I often let my emotions guide that. You and I operate differently in how we post stuff, me being overwhelmingly optimistic and defensive of the coaches and players, and you from time to time tend to stir the pot a bit, but again, seem to be connected. Thanks for posting this, and apologies to you for past emotional outbursts.

New age. There is no commitment. He might commit elsewhere but it means very little. Just keep on these guys' good side. It's all you can do.

Aside from the over the top exuberance for Georgia displayed at his last visit - The problem with bringing Dylan in with a large group is that he monopolizes the majority of the attention and fanfare which detracts from the other recruits experience

We can’t let that happen where multiple highly rated recruits that we have a decent chance of landing get a watered down experience at the expense of a single recruit where we have a very slim chance

This as much as the Georgia issue was why changes were made regarding the spring game

If he is still Georgia bound why would he take an official anywhere else and waste everyone’s time, if he wants to go to Georgia just commit and get it over with. Nobody likes a drama Queen.

I don’t know that he’s jacking us around … not sure what he’s done other than show up on campus - show interest and continue to explore options. When you are that high caliber it makes sense to check out all options. But it’s not like he’s driving the narrative - I think the fans are.

I still say the longer he waits the better our odds. If he’s holding out to see the product on the field to make sure it’s not a dumpster fire- I can’t blame him. If he was all in to Georgia he would have committed already - he knows what he’s getting there. Huskers are the big question mark which is good if he’s waiting.

This.

If he does schedule an OV here it's probably a coin flip between us and them.

Let’s just ghost the kid. Get somebody in here that’s good and wants to be here.

Back in the day(3 years ago and prior), I would have been fretting. Now, I don’t give a crap where he goes. If he goes here, great, I’ll be pleased. If not, that’s fine since there will be 10 D1 level QBs with experience at the P5 level that will be in the portal in December. We can pick one up to go with a HS QB that we get.

At this point my only worry is about the two guys behind Sims. I don’t think they are very good.

Anyway, I do think the longer it goes that bodes better for us but we have plenty of needs besides QB too.

So now the rumor is he's visiting at the end of June. Which would be after this magical day in June when he was supposed to commit to UGA. Which would make sense to me because why would he need to make some huge announcement at a UGA recruiting day? They already have enough hype. And let's face it, the longer it goes, the better for us.

People need to quit trying to figure out why an 18 year old kid does what he does.

If you can take unlimited official visits and at his level I sure as hell would. Not many get that opportunity.

If he were to commit to Nebraska it would be the greatest recruiting moment in modern NU history since we recruited Tommie in 1991. I would uncork some really good vintage Scotch and party like I was 18 again. I might even buy some pork rinds out of nostalgia for when I had lower cholesterol.

But if he does not come here -- and I doubt he will -- then it will hurt since he is a legacy recruit with an uncle on the staff and we had a legit chance at him for that reason. But it will not break our program or stop the momentum Rhule has built up. You can win championships, both conference and national, with QB's who are really good, but not necessarily best in class world beating talent. Alabama has won several titles with QB's that were very good, but not necessarily great. And I think Rhule can get us the kinds of really good QB's who know how to win on a regular basis.

It has to be a tough situation for him and his family. He’s choosing between playing QB for a team that is playing for national championships and a team coming off 5 losing seasons……. It’s not like he grew up in Dannebrog.

I agree. He seems like a great young man. I wish him well wherever he goes. But he did not grow up in Nebraska or anywhere near us and we have not been a competitive team on the national level since really 2001. And we have had one winning season in the past eight years and before that could only rarely even win our conference division. We have to get our house in order again before we can dream about getting recruits like this to Lincoln again. Baby steps Dr. Marvin, baby steps.
