great hire! I always enjoyed working with Bob. Really hard worker. Will help out with recruiting in the DFW area. Still won't be able to out-recruit Texass, A&M, or OU - but will definitely be able to pick up whats left.
Just go away already.

I think they were still getting paid by their former employers as well.A quality control position makes 100k+? That would surprise me. Steve Sarkisian and Butch Jones only made $35k as analysts at Alabama. I can't imagine Nebraska playing more than that for a quality control role.
That was my gut reaction too. But I think this hire is a good potential long term move coaching wise too. Definitely a building & grooming move. Matt can groom Don & Bob early as he’s trying to build a broken line. At least one of the two should rise. Wagner definitely seems like he could be a good recruiter and his work ethic is there.Another high school coach? Seriously? WTF? I get the recruiting angle on this, but traditionally you hire coaches with, you know, college coaching experience and then task them with developing recruiting relationships with high school coaches. But now I guess the new thing is to skip that and just hire the high school coach directly.
Oh well, at least he didn’t hire a golf pro like Pelini.

Another is I think a quality control guy. What do you mean another? This is the first and only one on this staff.
Yes, my bad. Just a quality control guy. Not a coach. The new guy is probably a good hire.Another is I think a quality control guy.
So Wager is a high school legend whom has also sat on the state coaches board, knows probably 100’s of coaches personally. The Big 10 is a top 2 conference and growing and Nebraska is geographically the closest state. If Nebraska signs a 25 kid class you really don’t think they could pull a pipeline 6-7 kids (24-28% of class) from Texas??Welcome aboard Coach!
I still have some doubts about the whole new Texas pipeline thing as we haven't been in the same conference as any Texas schools in a number of years now. I hope that makes zero difference.
It’s a different philosophy to hire a guy like this but he’s proven he’s a great coach. One thing people don’t realize is that there’s some degree of recruiting required to be successful in Texas high schoolYes, my bad. Just a quality control guy. Not a coach. The new guy is probably a good hire.
So who's left to officially announce as an on field assistant? WR and LB coaches still to be officially announced?
I was under the impression based upon interviews and such talking about recruits that White was handling linebackers. Does anyone have any confirmation or knowledge if that's correct?
Nothing at all wrong with a high school coach as long as he was a good coach with a good track record. He's probably more rounded in all the aspects of football, an up and comer who is motivated to succeed and relates to kids real well.Another high school coach? Seriously? WTF? Frank Verducci made $153,000 in 2021 as an offensive analyst.A quality control position makes 100k+? That would surprise me. Steve Sarkisian and Butch Jones only made $35k as analysts at Alabama. I can't imagine Nebraska playing more than that for a quality control role.
