Never hurts having two offensive line coaches.. Work really well with uncle Milty and Dan Young who had an outstanding record at Westside.I also wonder if him being assistant special teams coach will free up Foley to help with the OL?
Looks to be official now. Welcome coach!
Two exceptional high school coaches on staff: Wager as the TE coach and Phil Simpson as a defensive quality control coach. Should help with both on-field performance and recruiting in both Texas (Wager) and Florida (Simpson), specifically the DFW metroplex and South Florida (Monroe, Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties).
100k+ job probably and quite a few of Rhule’s assistants have climbed the ranks quickly.I'm surprised Simpson came here for only a quality control role...that's like only one step up from being a student manager basically.
Exactly. Wager was making $113,000 in Texas, but it's unlikely the Dade County School District was paying anything close to that for Simpson.100k+ job probably and quite a few of Rhule’s assistants have climbed the ranks quickly.

They’re betting on the potential upside I’m sure. Good opportunities for them to get in to college coaching.Exactly. Wager was making $113,000 in Texas, but it's unlikely the Dade County School District was paying anything close to that for Simpson.
This is from the Tampa Bay Times, March 2022:
Did you know the average football coach at a Florida high school gets paid a supplement somewhere in the $3,000 to $4,000 range to lead a team? They’re usually also a teacher. How do you think that compares to coaches in other states?
If you answered anything but “way lower,” think again. In Dallas, Texas, schools, for example, the starting full-time coach salary is $95,000, with the average about $20,000 higher than that.
Nebraska also has a head start on recruiting the 2024 class as Texas four-stars
Ian Flynt
and
Aeryn Hampton
have each received Rivals FutureCast Predictions in recent days.
You're thinking of Larry Flynt from Hustler Magazine.I believe Flynt is a Husker legacy (track)
I don't think he could run very fast. You're thinking of Larry Flynt from Hustler Magazine.

I prefer 5 d chess3D Chess from Rhule. Showing everyone how to build long-term culture and recruiting pipelines.
Another high school coach? Seriously? WTF? I get the recruiting angle on this, but traditionally you hire coaches with, you know, college coaching experience and then task them with developing recruiting relationships with high school coaches. But now I guess the new thing is to skip that and just hire the high school coach directly.
Oh well, at least he didn’t hire a golf pro like Pelini.
A good example of that was at Baylor, where he hired three key power players from the Texas high school football ranks in Shawn Bell, Joey McGuire and David Wetzel. McGuire is now the head coach at Texas Tech and just beat Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss team in the Texas Bowl.He is the only on field HS coach thus far...this is a regular thing for Rhule
nobody will ever be worse than the dipshit loser dweeb we dragged out from behind the teller's desk at some regional credit union to be our Offensive CoordinatorAnother high school coach? Seriously? As Inside Nebraska reported on Dec. 20, Wager has been involved in coaching the last seven Under Armour All-American Games in Orlando, as well as serving on the game’s board of directors.Another high school coach? Wager served on the Board of Directors of the Texas High School Coaches Association as well, which is something Rhule has drawn a strong connection to.
I'm sure this played a big part in the hire.
i had to read this twice. i kept reading husker magazine. well, about the same thing i guess. You're thinking of Larry Flynt from Hustler Magazine.
I'll say it again, I will take more coaches with unorthodox backgrounds if they bring in and develop guys like Bell, Turner, Allen, Westerkamp, Pierson-El, Enunwa etc. Don't mind if I do.Another high school coach? High school football in Texas is not high school football almost like the minor leagues, get that straightAnother high school coach? Seriously? WTF?
