1. Poor use of timeouts - waste a lot of time outs on situations that are easily avoidable, then we don't have any left at the end of the game
2. Too many penalties - penalties are usually an indicator of lack of preparation or discipline
I can hear the discussion now:
Trev: Mickey, we appreciate the great job you did keeping the program together this year.
Mickey: Thanks, I just the opportunity to lead young men.
Trev: While we appreciate your leadership and everything you have done for both the players and University, we are going a different direction.
Mickey: I am disappointed but understand, can I ask what I needed to do better?
Trev: Well, those darn penalties were just to much to overcome and then your time out management as a new HC and with a new DC were the deciding factors.
