I've been a fan of Meyer, Pittman and Leipold. I think Leipold may very well be our next HC if Kansas doesn't lock him up which they may have a hard time doing. I changed my order of HC's I'd like at Nebraska and it now stands as:
1. Leipold, he's a very solid HC and great at running a program and would come at a lower coast something Alberts would like and he is a solid family man with core values.
2. Meyer, he still turns programs around but he would cost a ton of money, something Alberts may try to avoid.
3. Pittman a solid organizer and solid HC and a great OL coach with history, would be hard to pull from Arkansas and isn't on Alberts radar most likely.

I mentioned early on about Leipold being a solid hire and I wonder if people are now starting to see some value in him they didn't a few days ago. I firmly believe Leipold should be our number one target and I really hope we can hire him. jmo and GBR!

Actually, following KU football this year — with the idea in mind that Leipold is a target — will make Saturdays at least somewhat interesting for Nebraska fans.

One other Leipold note — he's already 58 years old. If Trev can convince him to come, he'll be 59 next year, making Nebraska his final destination. He'd be in it for the long haul.

OP — I'm in.

Clawson, Doeren, Norvell, Chadwell next.
Leipold should be given serious thought and contention. He has won at a high level at every stop (all be it at smaller schools) but is a proven winner without all the flash and baggage. Just a no nonsense style and coaches with a chip on his shoulder instead of entitlement. Hard nosed coach that really stresses mental toughness and physicality. Can any Husker fan deny those last two qualities. He also understands the area. Many probably forgot or didnt realize that he coached at UNO early in his career. We want this mess cleaned up, hire him.
