Is how Frost has surrounded himself with ‘yes men’. SOMEBODY (esp Busch) should have spoke up and questioned (or said no) when Frost called the play. Just like airline and hospital catastrophic errors, they almost always occur because someone was afraid to speak up. It speaks volumes that nobody talked Frost out of that idiotic decision.

busch was on the staff last year, watched the special teams dumpster fire every day and didn't say a word

anyone who thought he would change anything now that he's a full time 'coordinator' is a dipshit

First of all as a assistant you can’t say no to the head coach , and maybe Bill did say it’s a bad idea.

I guess it would be mildly interesting to know if Frost sought opinions on the onside kick and what feedback he got. Ultimately he's the boss making that call though, no matter the feedback.

I'm having a hard time believing he actually thought that was a good call. Wow.

I’d read a list of ways NU has lost games under frost

we thought the kid kicking it the wrong way against sparty was bad last year

hold my beer!

He's the HC, what he says goes. Frost considers himself a genius regardless of results. He always has to get cute rather than play solid football.

You are up by 11 you always kick deep. Any championship level coache would kick it deep and play D.

Who is going to talk the head coach out of making that call? Seriously. I don’t see anyone changing his mind.

Bit of a difference between a stupid decision from the coach on a low-percentage play compared to a guy flat-out falling down trying to onside-kick the ball

Yes, even if you recover the fumble, the Huskers are 65 yards away from the end zone! NO guarantee that they would score! I imagine Pat F. was happy they tried it, a gift! Ha, what a foolish fool Coach Frost is! Pride goeth before the fall!

the coach definitely didn't tell that kicker to fall down

the coach did tell the kicker to kick the onside today

you tell me which is worse

It begins and ends with Frost. Another nail in his coffin. A totally asinine , WTF, short bus, call.

They were all probably paralyzed from shock and unable to speak up due to an incredibly dumb decision on SF’s part. The onside attempt was so half assed.

Everyone in the room where I was at was so dumbfounded by SF’s attempt to get cute. He does this often and it defies logic. Even for us who have never coached at a high level, were like…why??

It seems like the onside kick call was purely an ego thing for Frost...since he's no longer calling plays, he needed to insert himself in the game somehow.

If he had played it safe and we won the game, everyone would be saying that Whipple deserves all the credit, and that Frost should have given up play-calling a long time ago. Frost couldn't handle that.

The onside kick lost Nebraska the game
Maybe so, however the loudmouth Nelson (who sucks) and Nick (who sucks as well) could have helped the cause and stopped their ***. The LB play was supposed to be the strength and ended up being worst LB corp in years. Garrett Nelson All-Big Ten this year? The dude plays with his mouth. Keep buying in to the media. Clowns. Waste your time and re-watch the LB play. Once again, they are Nebraska boys. Let's give em a pass.

The onside kick is the BS stuff you call when playing Madden Football on JV level.
