HIs film is pretty good, from what I looked at. The new RB coach wants him, and is 'estatic' about Grant too. The other guy we recruited, the freshman, that makes it 3 RB in, 2 out (Sevion & Scott III), with a potential of a 4th RB (the A&M portal transfer).. so they are going to have to drop at least 1, maybe 2. I doubt they flush Rahmir.. seems like it would be Stepp and potential for Yant to go back to walk on, and he would then transfer.. prob have to wait to see how it all shakes out after spring ball.
Stepp has been and likely will continue to be no factor. With a kid like Yant, you never know. He has a lot stuff going for him, but he will either get serious or he will be gone.
I never could get a handle on the way Held handled the RB's. A new RB coach who "maybe" finds the right buttons to push on a kid like Yant, and all of a sudden NU has something. Maybe the kid really gets serious in the weight room and studies the playbook. If not, he may as well pack his bags.
It's possible these new offensive coaches have seen enough on film to just throw him on the trash heap.
As far as Rahmir goes, he does a good job for the physical size that he has, but I just can't see him being "the guy" in this offense.
It looks to me like NU will be a team that makes a ton of quick, short passes, and with Palmer, Castaneda and a couple of other speed type receivers making somebody miss and taking it to the house. It does eliminate the need for the blocking to hold up very long.
Although, I'm never a Kool-Aid drinker, I think NU has some of the elements in place to be a helluva offense this next season.
If Mickey happens to grab 2-3 more tremendous players, I think NU will make some noise this year.
