if we get 3 or 4 qb transfers we should be able to find one that can pass...
I'm sure our frost and our new oc is already on this like white on rice

Hire the OC and let the OC go get the QB out of the portal. If Trev wants to make this work, he will have no option but to do what Barry Alvarez did at Wisconsin and be involved in all aspects of big decision-making processes.

I was hard on our ole john lennon qb coach, I did'nt know wasn't making alot a year, compared to other assistants...
I would give him a easier job with a 50% pay cut just to follow every qb mike leech is even thinking about and try to get them to NU. that leech has a eye for qb's..

I'd be thrilled with a joe ganz..
northwestern and ksu's old coaches used to find decent qb's left and right too. he could ask their advice.
in the video 2 oregon qb's came up...maybe frost knows someone there who could make contact in a discreet way.

since we decided to be pass happy and not win championships...we have to have all hands on deck finding a qb that can pass and hold onto a football. so we can get 6 wins and go to a obscure product named bowl game

We will see. If Frost doesn't want to get fired he will bring in an OC that is run-based. A good coordinator can make a ****** head coach look good. Dabo's D gave up 70 points i a bowl game, went out and hired the OU DC, then the rest is history.

actually the run was declared dead after we won 3 out of 4 NC's with it....so that's no longer an option...
these days every college qb recruit is the next joe montana/tom brady.......so we can't have a running game anymore

we could possibly fail finding a decent qb so we might as well just go with our 2 projects, our walkon, and our possible recruit. no sense taking wild chances on a qb.

This season we have run the ball 55% of the time and passed 45% of the time.

What's the correct split?
This program has won games when they run for more than 200 yards a game. To do that, they need to run the ball about 70% of the time in games. When Bo's teams ran for 200 yards a game or more, he rarely ever lost. And I'm talking about rushing yards through the RB's, not QB like Frost does with AM

Wild chances? Have an open competition if whoever is brought in can’t beat out that crew, so be it.

It literally has nothing to do with that...

The lame fans just want wins but they won't say that because that is tangible.

Sooooo, they blame it on fake stats like "Rushing yards by RB's when it matters"

Adrian Martinez leads the team in rushing. We are 10 games into a college football season and zero RB's have 500 yards rushing.

Guess what the season record is as a result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This tired argument is tired.

People who want a more run-oriented offense are obviously talking about scheme. Scott’s offense is obviously soft. Teams dedicated to the run game look different, scheme different, block different, and have different technique. You know it when you see it. It isnt “slow developing inside zone 5000 times with no lead blockers“, it isnt a qb being the leading rusher because of scrambles.

It’s downhill run-game, H-backs, counter reads, duos, 2x2, and yes some inside zone when necessary but thats not the meat of your run game (along with qb scrambles).

But you already knew this, you are just pretending not to because you dont agree with “run the damn ball!“ guy. Thats fine, you dont have to agree with it but stop pretending simple run/pass ratio tells the whole story, because we all know it doesnt.

NU has had success when it commits to the run… Yant for example has had multiple drives where he’s picked up large chunks of yardage and then “poof” he disappears the rest of the game and we never see him again… I’m a believer that there’s far more problems in the RB room than talent… or at least there was prior to the firings

Yes a real run game doesn't involve a 180lb RB trying up the middle with no blockers as a key play. I hope the new OC does away with that nonsense.

I could see it being tough for Nebraska to land a quality transfer QB, but it has to happen.
Other schools may end up more appealing to top targets, but we need to get the best option we can.

We didn’t go after Bailey Zappe last year from FCS for inexplicable reasons. He went to Western Kentucky instead and has thrown almost 3700 yds 69% comp 37 TDs to 6 INTs 165 rating in 9 games. Leads nation in yards and TDs.

In 10 games AM has 1000 less passing yards, 13 passing TDs 8 INTs.

I never would say Zappe would put up 37 TDs in the B1G, but his consistent performance makes me wonder if he could throw 20 TDs.
20 TDs this year and we may be undefeated.

The point is, we need a transfer, even if less than high profile.

well I been assured by many that Nebraska is all bout puting pocket qb's in the NFL.
that's what I been told the last decade. so it should be no problem attracting 5 star passing qb transfers.
apparently it's all going by plan..

We obviously do not have a power running scheme like Wisconsin.. But it's false to state that we have a pass happy offense.

You have to have a consistent high quality line to have a power running game like Wisconsin. We don't have that and hard to say when we will.

And won't have one next year, so again, to expect Frost to bring in an OC that runs a power run scheme is not realistic.

So let me get this straight using actual numbers.

Nebraska is currently running about 60/40 run/ pass as far as number of plays go. To get to 70/30 Nebraska would have had to replace 7 pass plays per game with 7 run plays.

Nebraska is averaging 193 yards per game rushing in 2021, to get to 200 yards per game (your magic number), they would only need 7 yards more per game.

To get to 200 yards per game, (again your number to win games) Nebraska would only need to average 1 yard per carry in those additional running plays. 7 additional run plays, 1 yard per play, 7 additional yards per game, 200 yards per game.

So your opinion is that if Nebraska simply replaced 7 pass plays with 7 running plays per game and averaged 1 yard per carry in those additional carries, they would rarely lose??

Connor please get a backdrop if you want people to take you serious. I had to chuckle as I watched him do his video he looks like a kid who lives in his parents basement. Connor, a back drop costs a couple hundred bucks and I'm sure you got some stimulus checks and could afford a backdrop, it's easy just google Backdrops. I have a hard time taking someone serious who has his bed and bed stand with a lamp as a backdrop.
