Why in the world would 3 or 4 QBs come in here to compete with the incumbant for 1 spot? They're transferring because they want to play. You'd be extremely lucky to get 2.
do we want a kid that gives in before he even competes? bring in the cocky sob's that are willing and want to beat everyone else out. dont need guys looking for a safe spot.

What does this even mean? Give examples of these players at Nebraska or that are considering Nebraska so I can better understand your point please.

if we get 3 or 4 qb transfers we should be able to find one that can pass...
I'm sure our frost and our new oc is already on this like white on rice

Not really much of surprise that there would be many QB's in the portal. After all back up QB's don't get a lot of playing time and everyone knows the kids who are QB's don't have a lot of patience to sit on the bench to wait their turn.

yes, it's a interesting deal....some probably should leave and some probably overestimate themselves.
then with the nil stuff....players have it alot better these days

Let’s be honest here, the QB coach we just kicked to the curb has managed the following:

1. A starting QB whose middle name should be changed to “Lose”

2. A backup QB who arrogantly transferred last year twice so he could be the backup QB at Rice.

3. Two other backups that can’t find the field even when our starter throws 4 int’s against Minnesota, has a high ankle sprain and a broken jaw.

Harry Potter f’d us. What a chump

I could see it being tough for Nebraska to land a quality transfer QB, but it has to happen.
Other schools may end up more appealing to top targets, but we need to get the best option we can.

We didn’t go after Bailey Zappe last year from FCS for inexplicable reasons. He went to Western Kentucky instead and has thrown almost 3700 yds 69% comp 37 TDs to 6 INTs 165 rating in 9 games. Leads nation in yards and TDs.

In 10 games AM has 1000 less passing yards, 13 passing TDs 8 INTs.

I never would say Zappe would put up 37 TDs in the B1G, but his consistent performance makes me wonder if he could throw 20 TDs.
20 TDs this year and we may be undefeated.

The point is, we need a transfer, even if less than high profile.
IF we can hire the right OC, I think it is likely we can land a good one and done grad transfer QB who wants to prove it on a bigger stage than he's playing at now. There could be some good QBs who lose their head coach and OC at the end of this year. Frost's tenuous job situation wouldn't scare off somebody who only has a year left. We've got a lot of weapons to throw to.

While fan base is more freaked out from the W/L ratio, a level headed kid without the deep history of disappointment should be able to assess the ‘potential’ upside here.
We need to get our younger WRs ready or land another transfer WR who can help immediately.
A good WR coach should be able to get the guys ready.
