Dawson. What we don’t know is what the plan going forward is. If it is to hire a dedicate ST guy, there is no reason to fire Dawson. Let him focus on OLB. I do think we have 1 to many D coaches, but hey, I don’t know the plan.
If NU does NOT hire a ST coach of high quality, then there is no plan. If there is one area screaming for huge improvement, its the Special Teams.
The sooner NU quits giving games away, the sooner they stand to win some real close games.

I don’t understand this reaction. I don’t care who decided. I just think it had to be done. I’ve been reading on this very Board for months how the quarterback coach needs to be fired. Austin has been getting his fair share of criticism too. I thought this would make people happy. I was surprised when Frost hired Lubick. Living here in Washington, Lubick was not very well liked by the Husky fans during his short term at U Dub. Nor did he have much success. I don’t think he showed anything during his time in Lincoln. I always thought Ryan Held was one of Frost’s best friends. His firing is the one that surprised me. I guess it shouldn’t because it seems to me that we have some very good backs that have not performed anywhere near their potential. I’ve always found the running back rotation baffling going back to the first year when it took this staff three or four games before they started using the best back at the time, Devine Ozigbo.

Yes, you are correct. And how many years have posters been calling for changes? Did that just start in year four of pathetic play? No - it was already being sounded in year two. Frost observed the lack of progress from these coaches for FOUR seasons and nothing was done. Changes happened only when Frost was offered the option of the door or make changes.
The problem I have is with the dunce who watched the crap from this JV staff and did nothing until forced. This year he has been touting how close this team is and how much he loves everyone. When a person says that a team is SO CLOSE - does it make any sense that you fire nearly the entire offensive staff?
So yes - the right choices were made - but not by the man they should have been made by. Therefore, my confidence in Frost remains as low as it has been for the past two years. He is a blind man just covering his *** like Solich and Riley before him.
The offense works quite well except the red zone and when the QB has to make a play under pressure. Not that hard to fix those 2 things in todays college football world.
The bigger thing to fix is the OL We may soon know if we had bad coaching or way less talent then we thought.
Getting rid of your assistants has turned around so many programs that underachieve. I mean there are just so many instances that I can't come up with one name right now.
Frank Solich at Nebraska. We went from 7-7 to 10-3 the next season. Bo came in and had the defense rolling!

Milt was having a hard time getting around..Tougher for him to get on planes and recruit and he was even taking a golf cart to practice to get around..

This was all about lowering Frost's buyout dramatically so that if a year from now things are still not good the financial hit won't be as hard.

If SF didn't fire them, something the fan base has been saying needs to happen all season long, TA would have fired them all post season. SF saved the majority of his staff , took a pay cut along with a buyout cut to show he wants the best for this team. The problem you have is it didn't go the way you felt it should so now your all concerned for the four guys that needed to get the axe. Four guys the fanbase have been saying needs to go.
This is it! I laugh at the narrative as a completed pass in the end zone and a couple honorable mention running backs changes it all! Yes I laugh at myself as it all is anger over a game and a football over the goal line! Qback coach, running back coach, receiving coach, offensive line coach, all were needing better results! Don’t really see a large exit of offensive players on the horizon. And if so, would that be a bad thing? Look at the biggest contributors from those coaches who were fired. WR - Toure (1st year in the program) RB - Ervin, Yant, and Rahmir (mostly first years) OL - Teddy and Jurgens (no development in upper classmen besides Jurgens) and QB - Adrian has regressed every year in the program.
