We just bought two or three more years of horrid football. This is a stupid decision by Trev and indicates he was a poor hire too. Have fun with those shiny new facilities boys along with the empty stadium. This is my lowest point as a Husker fan, ever. This decision guarantees a disinterested and disgusted fan base. I won’t watch these last two games and I doubt I will set foot in memorial stadium again. This feels like the final straw for me. At age 63 it is probably time to stop investing emotion and time in a useless endeavor.

He could always do the Mel Tucker/Bill Snyder approach this year. Not really too late for that yet.
Because they feel like Scott should be gone also. I don't think most would argue that those assistants deserved to be fired. That said the guys who are bothered by it feel that outside of Lubick who only had two years these decisions should have been made already. When Walters was fired those guys should've went also. By waiting two more years and two more losing seasons it comes across like you didn't have a feel for what's holding your offense back .
But at the end of the day we have seen Walters and now Lubick as OC with pretty similar results. Some would tell you it's because Scott is true OC and the common denominator of both those guys. Add to the fact that he's retained many will feel as though HE and his offense may be the problem.
Id be more apt to give him the benefit of the doubt if he gave up his control of the offense. I don't think however that he will do that. We will see I guess....

We got rid of the coaches for the position groups responsible.
If we have even slight improvement in those position groups, we would have beat a handful of top 15 teams this year.
I'm not following your logic.
The only hope really is that somehow he does give up control of the offense, and clearing out the offensive staff is intended to entice a decent OC to take the job. But you know what they say about hope: it’s what you cling to when reality leaves you no other option.
Maybe he can get Helfrich to be the OC.

It’s amazing how many here seem to be fine settling for a 3 - not on a scale of 10, but on a scale of 12. Let’s just say I’m glad I don’t have to see what you and others settled on in those other categories…

It's Solich all over again. He fired 6 to save his ***. It worked for a year. Then he was fired. Buying time and saving money. All it is.
Might be just the opposite. In order to attract quality coaches with the notion they may only be here a year or two, it'll have to be worth their while. Meaning they will demand more than just average pay.

Alberts knew some heads had to roll today-- just not Frost's. This was to appease the fans that would feel nothing at all being done.
On top of this clearly there were going to be changes happening to the staff anyway so why not just pull the trigger now?
Because firing the assistants is like taking a pain killer to make that throbbing in your arm go away when you're having a heart attack.
I guess it's better than nothing but really does nothing about the actual issue.

Yea you’re confused. The people bitching about today’s firings are the people who wanted Frost fired. They are mad that they were wrong.

There's no way in hell Frost will be able to hire solid replacements. They would have to expect a 1 year job than fired with Frost.
He's a piece of garbage for making the hard call of shaking is staff up? So is Dan Mullen a piece of garbage then too? Was Solich a piece of garbage when he did it when he was here? Is Nick Saban a piece of garbage ? This is a part of the game. If anything he didn't fire a couple of them soon enough. A couple of his assistants were not ready to develop players for a high level of BIG10 football.
