This is how it plays out

In my opinion, the most critical game for Frost this year will be how the Huskers perform against Ohio State.

Three weeks ago, I was 100% for SF being let go. Then a couple weeks ago, SF FINALLY began to replace some of the pathetic starters we had in the OL, and I began my flip-flop, I felt Trev was having a huge impact on SF, and the program was benefitting.

I predicted before the season NU would finish 4-8. Those offensive changes made me adjust my prediction to 5-7, a slight chance at 6-6. Now I am willing, not that any of us have any say in the matter, to consider keeping SF, even at 5-7.

That 5-7 is totally dependent on how NU does against OSU. If NU plays very well and loses 35-28 or something like that, I could eat that 5-7 record. But, if NU has a poor day and OSU throws at will and gives NU a beatdown something like 42-14, then it's time for SF to go.

The probable wins against MN and Purdue, and even a close loss to IA would be acceptable, but a blowout loss to OSU might spell SF's doom.

Just an opinion, feel free to agree or disagree.
What would be acceptable against Wisconsin?

To me, it looks like its a winnable game that we are still capable of losing.
Winning or losing to a poor Wisconsin team that's gonna be decided by 10 points or less doesn't change my opinion of the OSU game result.

(Convoluted here). Wisconsin will really get after AM. Hopefully, Teddy will be back because that will be really important. Wiscy has a tough defense, just their Offense, especially at QB, has really sucked.

Even though Wiscy is down, they're still gonna be tough to beat. NU has had trouble with good teams and Wiscy is still much better than Ford, Buf and NW, so I'm never going to take for granted that NU can beat any good team, until they do.

Full disclosure. Other than the Miami (Fla), Texas, Wisconsin rank super high on the list of teams I really don't like. I think Chryst has openly disrespected the Huskers for several years, and I would love to see NU put one on their *** in a big way. But NU still has to get that job done.

Admittedly, this is a pretty crummy response to your question. Sorry. I usually know how I feel about something, but not in this case.

Wonderful response. Honest and as accurate as can be six weeks away from the game. I just hope we don't get too cute and understand that we can be the team that waits for the other QB to make an error in that game. If we can play cleanly, we can beat Wisconsin. But do we have that kind of patience? Not sure.

needs to go...so tired of martinez loosing winable games...probably 6 directly due to him, argueable 10
I have zero issues with AMart… until the last possession of games. It’s heart breaking because I love the guy and think he does amazing things, not to mention he’s just a wonderful young guy…. But we need to go up by 2 scores if he stays next year

I don't love or even dislike AM as a person. He is a nice kid who has nicely led this team to perhaps 4 straight losing seasons.

As the NU QB, I would rather have a prick like SF was as our QB and have him as a guy who elevates the team with his physical. not give an inch type mentality on the field.

In yards allowed, it's not even close. Big Ten rankings:
  1. Wisconsin (217.8 ypg vs. Penn State, Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Illinois)
  2. Iowa (274 ypg vs. Indiana, ISU, Kent State, CSU, Maryland, PSU)
That's what I guessed. Though I predicted 3-2 in the next 5 games, I did not predict the road to be easy. I don't mind fans saying they hate the Big 10, plenty of reason for that. But I do roll my eyes when a Clownbo says we are in a weak league.
Here's the Top 10 right now:
2 - Iowa
6 - O$U
7 - P$U
8 - Mecheatagain
10 - M$U
As I predicted, half of the top 10 come from our league, more than any other. We play in the second toughest league. If the B1G added Notre Dame and poached Missouri we would be the top P5 league. I just wish we had beat Michigan so the west could earn some respect.

I would like seeing a different Frost team without Adrain if SF is our head coach next year..

Something about watching the same movie over and over again is not what we want to watch again next season…

Escape without frostbite. Only half kidding. By the end of November, Wisconisn wil have perfected their 18 play double TE run heavy 8 1/2 minute 70 yard scoring drives. I attended a game up there in mid November once ... 15-20mph winds 8 WCF temp at KO. Every TV time out felt like an hour. Their fans didn't seem to mind it too much.

That seems to be the consensus, and I hope it happens. They do tend to improve as the season rolls along, but we are certainly overdue for the take-down. I just don't want it to become our superbowl, we can't overlook anyone on our way to a bowl game.

It's not our Superbowl and never will be.

Agree that their Offense is not what it should be for a top 5 team (#2), but they are very opportunistic on defense. they will capitalize on mistakes, which we are prone to make under pressure.

I feed wisky is a toss-up. mertz has been downright horrid this season, and their line isnt their traditional overpowering line.

I agree. Their D always gets turnovers and they are very solid, but they struggled with Clifford, especially in him scrambling.

It appears the OP in the linked thread believes Nebraska will beat Iowa. Any more questions?

Do you think this guy might see it as our superbowl?

Campbell still can't beat Iowa.

Since we're not going to a bowl this year, and they are the last game on our schedule, and it will be nationally televised on a Holiday ... is it possible it has already become our defacto bowl game?

This is strange and bizarre. Seems like you might have some issues you need to address.
