No, his point is still largely accurate. US oil production is high enough that it can cause slight changes in the end of the day cost of gas but really not much

Supply and demand. When supply exceeds demand the price goes down. When demand exceeds the supply the price goes up. This is simple economics. If the US produced enough oil to be energy independent (as we were for a while under Trump), the price of oil will go down. This happens for two reasons:
1- what I just explained above
2- the OPEC nations will increase production (more supply) in an effort to undercut the more expensive oil production methods sometimes employed in the US (fracking, for example).
With Biden killing some avenues of oil production/transportation in our country we are once again largely at the mercy of the OPEC nations to supply us with oil. The current price of oil today is a direct cause of Biden's (absolutely intentional) policies.

Trump had some success both getting OPEC to increase and decrease production at different times to keep the price stable. You don't want the price high or low, need that sweet spot for all those jobs.

Trump had the best economic numbers in a long time, didn't start a new conflict (for the first time since Carter?), low number of illegal aliens in a long time, stable oil and gas prices, energy independence and some other good things.
After they got the polling numbers showing even black Americans oppose diverting funds away from the police or reducing the amount of police officers by a margin of almost 70-30.
Stop it. Name one economic number that was negatively trending when Trump took office that he turned around.
His #1 card in his playbook was to claim victory for statistics that were trending positively before his presidency.

One of the only positives I’d give his entire presidency was lowering the corporate tax rate back down to a reasonable level.

All these years later and it still has to be explained? The US economy basically hit rock bottom in '08. When Obama took over there was nowhere for it to go but up, which it did, but very incrementally. Obama didn't have to do anything in order for the economy to grow back.
When Trump took over he reduced regulations and had congress pass tax reform. The US economy then took off. Virtually every statistical measure was at or near records (unemployment, stocks, etc.).
Here's a question: what do you think was the key thing Obama did to get the economy to grow?

That's true Obama took over at rock bottom so most things SHOULD be a positive but even the most important 2 numbers in my book Labor Force Participation and Average Take Home Pay both started to rise under Trump.
He was busy getting impeached for delaying some funds to the Ukraine and then he was called racist by Joe Biden and the media for wanting to shut down international flights to China before things got "serious".
