Geezus.. You can look for zebras in the Sandhills all you want but you aren't going to find them. There is NO reason to even suspect that this would happen any more than natural infection with COVID. It is completely illogical. It's fear mongering at it's worst.
Really? Are women reporting issues with their cycles after getting covid at the same rate as with the shot? Because there appears to be an issue in some people. Is it logical that some people have issues with blood clots after the vaccine?

Is it logical to push a "vaccine" on a population for a virus that 99%+ survives?

Women have reported abortions and still births after natural infection with COVID. I don't think they've done enough research to understand what may or may not be happening with some women and their periods.

The risk of blood clots from vaccination is thousands of times less than the risk of blood clots and death from natural infection. The risk of myocarditis is thousands of times less from vaccination than from natural infection. Those are the types of risk/reward situations you have to deal with when you make population medicine decisions. In animals you talk economics. Here we're purely talking what are the risks and benefits from vaccination versus the risks of natural infections. Clearly the variants have reduced the benefit of vaccination but the scales are still heavily tipped towards favoring vaccination.

If you're so worried about vaccination you damned sure ought to be WAY more worried about getting the virus naturally.

This is the US and you have a right to choose. I'm not against vaccines but people can choose to do what they want. That is the beauty of the US. Why are you so worried about it if you are vaccinated? It really makes no sense to me why the vaccinated are so worried about the choices of the people who don't vaccinate?? Everyone literally has had the chance to receive the vaccine and if they didn't get it, that is their problem to deal with and also the consequences are theirs to deal with. Shoot man... Your ****in posts are out there although we all know you are trolling.....
some people worry about the decisions of others because those decisions affect all of us.
like people who would choose not to follow traffic signals. they would harm others. and they do.
an infectious disease is not an issue for individuals. it is an issue for the entire society as a whole.
what individuals decide to do about determines what happens to the entire society not just certain individuals.

What % of people should die from a virus before we recommend a vaccine which causes treatable side effects in such a small percentage of recipients while clearly demonstrating protection in high risk patients?

Personally I think Biden made a HUGE mistake in taking over the push for vaccination just as Trump made a huge mistake in taking over the press conferences dealing with COVID. All I can do at this point is relay what we're seeing in our area, Vaccination has worked and nobody has had anything more than a sore arm or mild flu like symptoms from vaccination that I've heard of here. On the other side of the coin, the number of infections and hospitalizations has fallen to miniscule numbers even though mask rules in stores were completely lifted after vaccine was widely available. Delta is being widely diagnosed now and still hospitalizations remain low here. Hopefully we're over the hump and these damned variants don't screw up fall school and sports.

The viral immunologist you seem to think is illogical is referencing data that you apparently haven't looked at, but are ready to discount. Not very sciencey.

Maybe you could compare it to the other mRNA vaccines that have been cleared for human use? Ohhhhhhh wait. There aren't any.

Well said.
For some reason some people can completely set aside rare occurrences like death due to covid but are completely obsessed with an even more rare occurrence like hospitalization in a vaccinated patient.
it goes back to people WANT to believe what they WANT to believe even in the face of a mountain of evidence proving otherwise.

I still don't get the schools decisions. Literally 250 kids have died (according to John Hopkins) and all of them had some sort of serious underlying condition. I just don't get why we are going so nuts with the kids.... As much as some of the loons want to act like this thing really goes after kids, it doesn't. They need to be in school socializing and actually learning.

The variants haven't screwed up anything. The political reaction to them has. The CDC and Fauci thinking they can manipulate the public and control an aerosolized respiratory virus using fear and panic has.

huh. people are dying from the variant. How is that not an issue?
i dont think Fauci needs to scare people. Most people want to avoid dying or being hospitalized.
Thats why we look both ways before crossing the street. Even though we could never do this and probably never be hit by a car. we still do it. it reduces risk with almost zero burden. same thing as the vaccine.

There is no doubt that they are using the variants to try to get more people vaccinated. It is also true that the CDC wildly screwed up the case numbers in Florida and for some reason haven't been able to fix their error. The variants have reduced the effectiveness of the vaccine. I'm interested to see what happens when Delta finds it's way in to area nursing homes.

if you are concerned about masks thats a different issue. I'm not in love with masks but they have very little downside.
there have already been some huge outbreaks in schools that have already been in session including a good number of teachers and staff being infected. I think the staff needs any amount of protection that can be offered to them. and although the virus doesn't seem to hurt kids too much it still causes them to miss school because they really dont want known positive kids in school possibly spreading to other kids or eventually to staff members and family.
as the group responsible for the safety and well being of our children i can't imagine any organization including school districts not taking every precaution possible to avoid any level of harm to anyone kids or adults even if its rare.
i'd be much more concerned about lawsuits from people dying from diseases spread without any precautions at school than lawsuits from people because the schools tried too hard to protect everyone

he can't bro. he just spends his days looking for anything on the internet that he thinks confirms his opinions and beliefs on these issues. Even if he has no expertise or knowledge on the topics.
He could have just scheduled an appointment with his local infectious disease physician and got a lot better information but he knew he might get information that he didn't want to hear. finding stupid **** on the internet has a way better chance of making us feel good about our opinions.

The one thing that concerned me some when they got so specific in their design of the vaccine was the potential for antigenic drift of the virus. The mRNA allowed them to narrow the antigens down but in the process it may have reduced the ability of the vaccine to protect against variants. I erroneously thought this vaccine was going to be good for years. I think they're going to have to back to the lab and add some antigens to the vaccine.

This is the worst logic from an allegedly educated person... are you working for the govt?

We have shown and agreed time and time again that the virus is of near zero risk to healthy young people.

The risk of myocarditis or blood clots from the virus is not high among healthy young people.

Then you want to distribute the risk of the vaccine, to everyone, even though not everyone will get the virus and a significant portion of the population is at near zero risk from the virus.

The below graphs show where the risk is, but you think we should put everyone at risk. That is nonsensical.

If FACT there were multiple mutation variants long before we had a vaccine available. From the very beginning they could trace where the virus traveled from by the mutations present. The strain in New York came almost exclusively through Europe. The strain on the west coast came primarily directly through Asia. Delta was already present overseas when this vaccine hit the market. Lambda was the predominant strain in South America way before they had any widespread vaccinations down there.

What they didn't count on was the continued rapid mutations in virulent forms. They though they had included enough virulence producing spike proteins from the different major strains for the vaccine to offer cross protection. What is alarming is that normally what has happened with Corona viruses is that when they mutate they become less virulent. This one is not behaving that way.
So if Vax you can still mutate the virus same as non Vax? I appreciate the information and have heard that non Vax are to blame for mutations/variants which didn’t make sense.

Then we'll be on to lambda or whatever and the vaccines will be damn near useless. I wish we'd hurry up and get on to the therapeutic antivirals already.

Wrong. Kids in red states were on heavily adjusted school schedules as well. Ranging from short days to barely any in-person days during the week. It’s not like they were basically encouraged to beat off with hand sanitizer either right? Masks all day, including during gym class. Such a disgrace.

I see what the goal is now though with the delta variant. They’ve been pushing to vaccinate children younger and younger but there was no reason. What perfect timing the delta variant is, from a scientifically engineered virus, no less. Oh and would ya look at that? It’s even harming our children now?? 😮 Amazing how it will all perfectly work out for the sheeple calling for every human to be vaccinated.
Especially when you have a virus that is easily defeated if treated early on with Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine, and the survival rate is extremely high. So many died from Covid because they were told to go home from the ER or Urgent Care and only come back if it doesn't get better or they just couldn't breathe. By then, the virus was a raging inferno and very difficult to treat. We lost a brother-in-law because of their lousy protocol.

Dingle-What are your thoughts on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine?
I would rather take and did take Moderna's. 2nd choice was Pfizer's. 3rd J&J. It seems clear that J&J's causes more inflammation and resultant negative reactions. Still it is thousands of times safer than getting the virus. When you design a vaccine to be a single dose immunization you have to make it elicit a stronger inflammatory effect. The inflammatory reaction is what makes vaccines produce immunity. With all of the vaccines, I'm hoping that they're able to add some of the new strains so that we can get boostered soon to give us protection against the variants. JMO.
