I hate the B1G and agree about Nebraska not being a good fit. But the rest is just pretty silly. Junior member or whatever, the University has made a ton of money off the move. And what is all this recruiting nonsense? Until this class (which is a long ways from signing day) Nebraska has recruited circles around Mizzou. I think moving to the SEC has been nearly as bad for Mizzou as moving to the B1G was for Nebraska.
personally, i think its going to be difficult for NEB to win big in the B10 and its going to be almost impossible for missouri to win big in the SEC. both schools got the biggest possible kiss from the conferences in being placed in the divisions they were. no doubt missouri would be the last place team almost every year in the West.
neb would be a bottom half team consistently in the East. at least neb has a chance to do something in the West.

It’s so funny..I grew up Columbia but live in Lincoln. I moved here really liking and respecting Neb. Side note, Dr Tom’s a good friend of mine. But, the ‘classiest fans’, as they call themselves, are anything but that these days. I’ve had my tires slashed, Mizzou flags stolen from my house, and ‘N’ spray painted on my driveway. Desperation brings out the worst in people.
Also, those that criticize any state because of a few bad apples, haven’t traveled much. Missouri has issues but it’s a beautiful state compared to Nebraska, and Nebraska has it’s own drug, crime, and ignorance issues.
Mizzou’s on the upswing and most reasonable Neb fans (most N friends of mine) acknowledge that. This year’s big for Frosty…my guess, your new AD will be busy after the coming season. MIZ!

I find all of this very, very hard to believe. That being said, what makes all reasonable people say Mizzou is on the upswing? They fired a coach that went 7-6, 8-5, 6-6 and the new guy just went 5-5.

is this kid a major academic risk? thats what i was thinking when i saw his ranking compared to his list of finalists.
his position ranking says all the top 10 schools should be recruiting him. The schools recruiting him says he is either severely over rated or dropped from lists because of eligibility concerns
Think Betts without the Covid bonus.

That’s all I can say and that’s already too much.

In an all-SEC schedule. MIZ. Enjoy being a punching bag in the worst division in P5!

Worst division in P5? You really didn't need to prove to us that you're an idiot, but you did it anyway.
Feel free to keep convincing yourself otherwise, have to be good at that considering most of you actively choose to live in Nebraska.

Y'all don't seem to realize that those "top 20" classes were more like mid-forties AFTER so many of those same kids quit or transferred (e.g., all 4 wideouts from a year or two ago). Your best offensive weapon transferred to KY. IF Martinez gets a high ankle sprain, you're looking at 2-10 this year. Sorry. The story isn't that you're coming back - that can't happen as all the circumstances that allowed for your success a generation ago can't be repeated (e.g. huge nutrition and weight lifting advantages, loose academic standards and before cable TV). The truly amazing thing is that Neb WAS ever a power in the first place. Celebrate that for sure, but it the glory days are OVER FOREVER. Cheers

not following. Betts looked good last year and by all accounts is going to be a major player for nebraska and possibly the conference. If every recruit was a Betts then the program would be really good

you can say similar things just about every recruiting class in the country. if missouri isnt losing a bunch of their classes then great for them but they would be the exception. missouri really isnt going anywhere either.
even with improved recruiting they aren't in the class with georgia. again missouri got lucky being in the East.
if in the West they should probably just discontinue the program.

Betts was the beneficiary of the loosened academic requirements during the COVID year, in a normal year he probably doesn’t qualify.

What does Mizzou offer that Nebraska doesn't?
Maybe with the impending disruption at ASU, Frost should make another try For Woods.

They offer absolutely nothing that Nebraska can’t. Nebraska has better facilities, better fan support, better campus, better town, everything. But Woods (and all the Omaha kids influenced by certain people in the metro) have made it clear from the start they aren’t interested in Nebraska. I doubt Nebraska circles back to him. Hope he finds success at Mizzou.

I live just south of Pine Lake Road (Cripple Creek South) and, unfortunately, it’s all true.
5-5 on paper certainly looks exactly mediocre, but most people know there’s much more to the story when considering metrics. Is he a true leader, can he inspire, recruit, connect, is his plan a fit for the long haul in the SEC? Let’s just say, Drink overachieved given the schedule, talent, injuries, and Covid. Now, he’s starting to stack some recruiting and he’s a true, inspiring leader with an experienced, diverse coaching staff.
I’m a realist - there’ll be some bumps but I believe we have THE right coach and staff in place. Unfortunately for my NE friends I don’t think Frost’s the guy for you..he seemed like a home run hire initially but he’s inflexible, doesn’t connect well with current players (we know 3-4 players who all say the same thing), and he’s totally uninspiring as a leader.

Nebraska is a wasteland, fly over state that no legitimate player in their right mind wants to spend 4 years in.

You don’t think MidMo is flyover territory? You are an idiot. Lincoln>Columbia. Nebraska>Mizzou.

The only thing this thread shows is that there is someone dumb enough to be a missouri football fan.

I lived in Columbia for 4 years. It was a sh##hole. Every city in every state has their own problems with drugs and crime. Even 40 years ago Columbia had huge problems with drugs and gangs. If volunteer shag bark Hickory trees is your idea of beauty, so be it. I prefer some decent dirt that can feed the world. You've obviously never traveled in Nebraska or you wouldn't call it a wasteland. Actually if you drive around Lincoln and Omaha you would find them very similar to nicer areas of Kansas City or Saint Louis.

If zero diversity of topography is your thing, then Nebraska is definitely for you.

Rivals has him at #1 in the state and 162 nationally and 247 has him at #2 in the state. But maybe the other guy was talking about his own personal rankings.

I said that I didn’t look at where each site rated them, but that Devon Jackson is the one with all the big offers. He also has massive athletic upside. To me he is the clear #1. Woods, Hausmann and Helms all seem like talented kids too, but Jackson seems to be much more of a National recruit.

Hausmann will have the best football career out of all of the in-state kids. Better genetic makeup and his athletic ability is impressive.

Woods seems to get influenced too easily by others and was dumb enough to allow a school to illegal recruitment him. A player that allows that when they know it's against the rules has issues in my mind.

There is no way you have ever been to Columbia. It's the singular reason Missouri football has never been relevant.

I love Hausmann’s upside and he is at a huge position of need for us, but Jackson seems like way more of a sure thing. The kid won the state 100M dash at 6’3, 210.

I expect Jackson to make it the NFL. I like Hausmann better though. You can see the physical growth taking place from him this off-season. Jackson is closer to a finished product than Hausmann is and IMO that gives Hausmann the edge.
