Finally getting the respect the teams deserves after winning the B1G..

He deserves a National Title and this year’s team is very capable of giving it too him..So is Dave Van Horne just that great of a college baseball coach?
I tend to give very little credit to baseball coaches because of how little they impact the game once the game has started but he just seems to be freaking amazing.
He almost won it a few years back, I forget who they played. He deserves a National Title and this year’s team is very capable of giving it too him..
Crossing my fingers were not 2 seed in Fayetteville..

I feel like the mods made a mistake when they let you continue posting.Feel like the Huskers made a mistake when they fired Darin Erstad
They didn’t fire Erstad.Feel like the Huskers made a mistake when they fired Darin Erstad
I don't feel like Erstad was ever made for college baseball. MLB would suit him better in my opinion.Feel like the Huskers made a mistake when they fired Darin Erstad
I'm surprised Michigan didn't move up considering D-1's obsession with them. Finally getting the respect the teams deserves after winning the B1G..

Agree some. Talent means alot in Baseball. You don't have the stud pitchers and 2 or 3 studs who can change the game with one swing it doesn't matter who the hell the coach is coaching the team. Only get so much out of average baseball players. Most always the talent wins in baseballSo is Dave Van Horne just that great of a college baseball coach?

How and the world can they justify RPI when only playing against each other in conference play.Nebraska RPI is like 47 I think. I would be hugely surprised if they are a #1 seed. 7 of their 11 losses are to teams with RPI over 100. They have played zero Q1 teams. There are just too many other teams with better resumes than what Nebraska puts out there.
The Fairfield Stags are No. 2 nationally in RPI, so I wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on what an RPI is in determining a seed.Nebraska RPI is like 47 I think. Well every other conference outside of the MAAC, (Fairfield), is playing out of conference schedules. How can they justify any Big Ten team is any good when they only play each other? How and the world can they justify RPI when only playing against each other in conference play.
Biggest joke there is...
Fairfield is much like Nebraska in that their league is not playing OOC games either, so all of their RPI is based on their 35-1 record. The Fairfield Stags are No. 2 nationally in RPI, so I wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on what an RPI is in determining a seed.
In addition to Nebraska's No. 47 RPI, Maryland is No. 65 and Michigan is No. 99, but all are being projected into the tournament.
I agree with your point that it's a long-shot for Nebraska to be a No. 1 seed, but we're closer to a 1 than a 3 at this point, and this weekend against Michigan will determine if our road to a Super Regional is difficult or improbable.
Before last weekend's 4-0 against top-half Big Ten teams, Baseball America projected Nebraska as the No. 2 seed in the Tucson regional against No. 4 Arizona, or technically the 29th seed. Surely we've improved our lot since then, and can again versus Michigan.
Good point. Bottom line: Nebraska would be a projected No. 1 seed if we'd swept Rutgers at home instead of getting swept. We hurt ourselves.Well every other conference is playing out of conference schedules. How can they justify any Big Ten team is any good when they only play each other?
If anything baseball coaches tend to over-coach and over-manage.Agree some. Talent means alot in Baseball. Granted Warren idiotic move to not play mid week games hurt the conference.. Nebraska could easily had 8-10 wins in of which would have been against Creighton and I don’t remember who else Bolt scheduled as another high caliber team but the RPI had no idea what teams were ranked when the season started..Where do they start from at the very beginning? This goes for basketball tooWell every other conference outside of the MAAC, (Fairfield), is playing out of conference schedules. RPI is simply a calculation that factors in winning pct 25%/ opponents winning pct 50%/ opponents opponents winning pct 25%. Then there bonus points for Q1 wins and penalties of Q4 losses. Typically the first RPI doesn't come out until the end of March after a large number of non conference and even some conference games are played.Granted Warren idiotic move to not play mid week games hurt the conference.. midweek games are just a small portion of the idiocy. The preseason tournaments is where you can play 15-20 games in 3 weeks, get some wins and play top teams. That is where your RPI is built, not the 7 or 8 midweek games against local teams.Granted Warren idiotic move to not play mid week games hurt the conference.. Nebraska is likely locked in as a mid-to-high #2 seed, but I wouldn't count on that keeping them out of Fayetteville. As already suggested, it's a big crap shoot after the top 16.Would have to think 2-1 gets us away from Arkansas at least. Just want a fighting chance
Many many more than just the head coach.remind us again - who's responsible for compiling the talent?

That could change too TCU for some reason isn’t in the top 10 despite tying the whorns for 1st place.Latest D1Baseball projections have us as the No. 2 seed in the Lubbock regional, with overall No. 8 seed Texas Tech as the top seed. I know this isn't exact because regionals in baseball are often geographic, it is the equivalent of being the 25th-ranked team.
Michigan is a No. 2 seed in South Bend (Notre Dame overall the No. 6), while Maryland is a No. 3 seed in Nashville against overall top seed Vanderbilt. Indiana is a No. 3 seed in Eugene, with overall No. 12 Oregon as the top seed.
Let me check one more thing — yes, just as I suspected. Iowa sucks.
remind us again - who's responsible for compiling those responsible for compiling the talent? Many many more than just the head coach.
Why so tough a subject here lol
Did Warren really decide not to play midweek or was he just the mouth piece?Granted Warren idiotic move to not play mid week games hurt the conference..
