I’m just asking because the consensus on here is that the 6 AM slot is the best slot. I would think if that were the case, A The slot Would not have been available to begin with, B, If for some reason the 6 AM slot was available and the girls sports took it, why is it mentioned in the story.
I would think in the high school ranks, especially in your sub varsity sports where most freshmen and sophomores aren’t driving, the 6 AM slot would be tough And not all that desirable. It isn’t like there’s a bus route for sports conditioning.
that’s why I’ve always been a fan of how we do it down here in Texas, we have an athletic period, Conditioning takes place at that time. If you want extra conditioning you fight for it after the fact.
I wonder when Bennington will get some retail. There's nothing there. It's 5 miles, single lane on 156th to get over to Maple St. With stop signs. Not ideal for growth.Seems odd for that parent to suggest switching workout times back and forth. 6 am is a very popular time to workout since a lot of HS kids have jobs to get to or need to get home to watch younger siblings before parents leave for work. Likewise, the early time slot is great for coaches.
Bennington is at a crossroads. It's going through what Gretna went through 20 years ago. Soon enough there will be enough rich snobs demanding that they get their own way. It's probably time to get used to it now and give them what they want & move on....
Well the truth is Men’s sports mean more than girls sports!
They got a Casey's...but I think that is still technically in Omaha.I wonder when Bennington will get some retail. There's nothing there. It's 5 miles, single lane on 156th to get over to Maple St. With stop signs. Not ideal for growth.
Imagine the beautiful irony that someone could type the above (and believe it!) and at the same time call transgender people or anyone else mentally ill.Why should we care? We have turned our backs on God and now we are reaping what has been sown. Got bad news for you though... It's only going to get worse. Every month you will see headlines and articles about the continued rot and decay of the society especially in the world of sexuality and genderism.
My son's baseball coach has "voluntary" 6am weights all winter and man does it suck. I'm not a morning person anyway but I get up to make sure he's up and now I'm actually waking up before my alarm goes off. I hate it. He's pretty good about getting up on his own but there were a handful of mornings he wouldn't have made it!
This is totally false. Rome was NOT built by Christians and the spread of Christianity is credited by some historians as one of the reasons why Rome fell.Indeed, it’s well known that the Roman Empire was built by good Christians and fell when they turned their backs on Him.

That’s the joke, yes. Sarcasm can be hard to convey in text. This is totally false. Rome was NOT built by Christians and the spread of Christianity is credited by some historians as one of the reasons why Rome fell.
"The decline of Rome dovetailed with the spread of Christianity, and some have argued that the rise of a new faith helped contribute to the empire’s fall. The Edict of Milan legalized Christianity in 313, and it later became the state religion in 380. These decrees ended centuries of persecution, but they may have also eroded the traditional Roman values system. Christianity displaced the polytheistic Roman religion, which viewed the emperor as having a divine status, and also shifted focus away from the glory of the state and onto a sole deity. Meanwhile, popes and other church leaders took an increased role in political affairs, further complicating governance. The 18th-century historian Edward Gibbon was the most famous proponent of this theory, but his take has since been widely criticized. While the spread of Christianity may have played a small role in curbing Roman civic virtue, most scholars now argue that its influence paled in comparison to military, economic and administrative factors."
Bennington dad here. My daughter was a former “female athlete of the year” there & went to college on an athletic scholarship, so I’m probably a little closer to the situation than most of you.
IMO, there’s no deliberate malice on behalf of the District. The Superintendent is “tight” with money, but his son and daughters both participated in athletics during their high school years. To suggest that he’s deliberately slighting the female athletes in the district is balderdash.
The money for the improvements is already in the budget, but targeted for a couple of years from now. A bunch of “Karen’s” want it now, because they’re entitled to it, don’tchaknow.
The lawsuit is an interesting tactic to resolve the concerns the parents have, but they have their SJW moment and they’re running with it, dragging the emotions of the community with them. As a district taxpayer, I’m chapped that my tax dollars will be spent on legal fees defending this suit.

Is this your daughter?!??!!
I kid, but yeah, I think bennington has changed a lot over the last 5-10 years.
This suit won't end up in front of a judge, will it?
Thanks for the info. I am going to make some assumptions and tell me where I am incorrect.
1. Uniforms are purchased on a rotating basis generally unless something changes, poor quality, rule change, etc. Is this a factor with the parents?
![]()
2. What is the issue with the work out times?
The girls work out at 6:00 a.m. and the boys get to sleep in until 8 a.m. Obviously, this beef is with one of the girls team parents, who is tired if she stays up to watch Jimmy Fallon.
3. Many districts have legal counsel on retainer and pay X$ for basic services. I suppose this could go above that. Are these all the beefs they could come up with for Title 9 violations?
My understanding is it's mostly about the facilities. They view the softball fields as inferior to the baseball fields and want nicer facilities. Again, facility upgrades are in the future budget but they want it now.
An interesting story. When we lived out in Western KS the district wanted to build new locker rooms, another gym and a weight room. In the information about the project, Title 9 kept being mentioned because the boys had bigger and nicer locker rooms, showers and all of that. I asked a school board person when Title 9 got involved over all of this and he said they never did, someone just thought that would be a good thing to put in the material to sell patrons on the need. It passed BTW.
Exactly like this board and the Husker fan base.. Well said!Dealt with people like this before.
Rest assured, as soon as they get exactly what they want, they'll find a reason to be unhappy and want something else.
Good point. I doubt it will grow as fast as Elkhorn and Gretna, but it's growing and a good portion of that growth is spoiled rich kids who are now adults.I wonder when Bennington will get some retail. There's nothing there. It's 5 miles, single lane on 156th to get over to Maple St. With stop signs. Not ideal for growth.
Dude you've got a hardon for Christians. Just stop, blueanon.ask yourself, did jesus make the 12 apostles wear knock off jerseys and sandals when they played pick-up games around the holy land?
that being said, its shameful that things have to come to legal actions for seemingly everything in this country.
id bet dimes to donuts that most of these folks claim some belief in christ.
christians are not immune from privileged, ‘this aint fair’ attitudes.
these parents’ beef has some merit in the fact that youd be hard pressed to find any youth sports team to not be outfiited in the newest, nicest threads youve ever seen.
my daughters soccer coach, when she was young, ripped a cute picture off the internet, got some pink tshirts, and we paid less than 10 bucks for a tshirt each season.
our girls still kicked the ***.
every team we played looked like a advertisement for soccer equipment.
most have bought into the youth sports ********.
Over the years, a lot of head scratching decisions made by administrators were made because of legal advice and the fear of the lawsuit. And now we see what happens when some angry moms don't get immediate action. The lawsuit is an interesting tactic to resolve the concerns the parents have, but they have their SJW moment and they’re running with it, dragging the emotions of the community with them. Why hire an old out of state attorney?

Is the rest of your manifesto posted online somewhere?no, just for hypocrisy.
like a poster in this thread's finger pointing.
you have a name calling hard-on.
just stop, period.
He isn’t taking into account the number of rolled ankles in those Holy Land pick up games. What in the hell was this
This is a weird deal. Seems everyone has microagression axes they need to grind. This could've been handled better. I assume the school board did not blow them off.Over the years, a lot of head scratching decisions made by administrators were made because of legal advice and the fear of the lawsuit. This MAY be a little more complex than some here are making it. The parent brought up the issue of the ball fields, that was a new one. It has been mentioned several times about uniforms and doing fund raisers, families, etc. Then the budget was mentioned.
The schools I worked at had policies prohibiting any outside donations for uniforms just for this reason. Some high roller comes along and wants all Nike or Under Armor unis and pays up, makes all the others upset. So boards say if you want to donate to the general fund, fell free to do so but you are not allowed to have 5 kids do a 2 hour car wash for $10,000 worth of uniforms. I think it is a very good rule. The superintendent always set my building budget as an AD/Principal each year. I knew how much I had to spend and what was coming up. Football is the most expensive sport, getting helmets checked and pads updated but you generally know what you have coming up and plan for it. That is the AD or principals job, not the superintendent.
The ball fields could be an issue. However, if, as someone said, there is a plan already in place to get them updated, then they should be fine. There is a timing issue there and yes, you have to be mindful of that.
These parents would die if they saw the new softball field we just put in at one HS. Brown turf on the infield, green on out outfield and a brown warning track. Extremely nice. I don't know all the issues but there is likely a bit more to this than meets the eye. Sure, anyone can sue anyone else but layers generally do not like to sue schools unless they have something really solid to go on, you are suing a taxing entity which is not popular and there are some immunities schools have.
Little known fact, the Jesus was responsible for most of those rolled and broken ankles. KILLER crossover. Always find the open man and get the assist. Bet the Jesus had a sweet j though. He isn’t taking into account the number of rolled ankles in those Holy Land pick up games.
