These poor girls in Bennington

I hope a lot of boys start identifying as girls and compete in their respective sports and kick their asses. Kidding. I'm not sure what to think about it. They seem to have a legite gripe or two but it seems like whining a little to. Feels like everyone has to whine about something now for fear of being left out of the whinefest.

My guess is the girls and or their coaches are the ones that picked which gear they would wear, that is how it usually works.

6am conditioning time is the best time, not the worst. I am guessing the coaches all fought for that spot and the girls coaches got it. No one wants to condition at 10am...you want to get it done with and go on with your day.

Why should we care? We have turned our backs on God and now we are reaping what has been sown. Got bad news for you though... It's only going to get worse. Every month you will see headlines and articles about the continued rot and decay of the society especially in the world of sexuality and genderism.

Seems a little deep for a football message board and I'm betting a lot of the girls involved in this believe in and worship God. For all we know, the coaches for the girls choose the uni's they are wearing to spend money in other places...there is so much left out of this article it's silly. Like for instance, did they ask the men if they could trade off gym time? Do all the girls feel this way, or just the three who decided to take it to the next whiny level? Cause if it's just 3 families whining about it, then freaking barf. If it's unanimous then different story.

The old saying of "Life is not always fair" doesn't carry much weight in this day and time. If people feel slighted or offended, today's society gives them an opportunity to get what they want. Whether it is right or wrong.

Agree with the girls. As long as those activities are tax payer funded, make things equitable. I don't think any lawyer's fees need to be accrued. Just draw up some better rules and stick to them.

My thoughts.:

The girls didn't REALLY care about most of this BUT a few moms did. Those yentas annoyed their husbands enough that this happened.

Also, my guess is that all the girls will be off to college, will do just fine and 99.9% of them will be totally "normal"

Uniforms/gear, sure. But remember, coaches/players pick that stuff.

Gym time...someone is going to have a good time and some will have the crappy times. They just have to divide it up.

Oh bullcrap. The world is just as fine or as effed up as it has always been. I guarantee there was a guy at a coffee shop in ancient Rome telling everyone who would listen how the world was really going to hell. Hysterics.

This is so easy to fix, how it ever came to a lawsuit, to me, is the issue.

I don't know how but Bennington is but is there not enough equipment for coed S&C. If not then alternate times, again I assume there is a morning and evening session. We had both.

As for uniforms, I purchased several and let me tell you it is a big deal to kids. There is a huge difference in price between name brand and the generic. I would also say that in my experience the generic was at least as good if not better. Kids wanted the swoosh or other emblems. I let the players and coaches decide. Got samples and had them wear them, especially VB, track and cross country. That puts it back on the kids and yep it might cost a little more but not always.

Were the girls and boys given the same options to choose from? My guess is they weren’t. As far as the conditioning times go, a rotating schedule can’t be that hard to pull off. Also, do they not have capacity to have both guys and girls in the weight room?

Exactly. They ought to be able to clear this up in about 90 minutes in a closed door meeting with all the parties. No lawyers needed.

Of course we're only hearing one side of the story, but equitable access to facilities doesn't seem like an unreasonable ask, much less a sign that the world is going to Hell in a handbasket. Nearly 40 years ago we grumbled when it was our turn to have basketball practice in the "old gym." But we did it, because the girls' BB team had just as much of a claim to the better gym (maybe more, since they won more games).

I would have it open door. Gets it all out in public and people have their opportunity to speak. Behind closed doors has the appearance of hiding something. JMHO

Seems odd for that parent to suggest switching workout times back and forth. 6 am is a very popular time to workout since a lot of HS kids have jobs to get to or need to get home to watch younger siblings before parents leave for work. Likewise, the early time slot is great for coaches.

Bennington is at a crossroads. It's going through what Gretna went through 20 years ago. Soon enough there will be enough rich snobs demanding that they get their own way. It's probably time to get used to it now and give them what they want & move on....

There was that person in Rome, telling them about this. His name was Paul. Look what happened to the Roman Empire. The US is following Rome almost exactly as far as debauchery and flaunting themselves at God. History does repeat itself.

So if the 6am spot for the conditioning is the best time, why aren't the boys coaches locking them down?

No clue, but probably not enough room.

Coaches give the options (in most cases), I ordered unis this year. I told the team to pick what they wanted...after two weeks of them not being able to come up with anything, we turned it over to the AD.

Also, this is just my take, but the schedule/times should be what works best for the coaching staffs, not the kids.

Coaches put in so much time for little pay (at the HS level) and give so much, that they should work as a school coaching staff, see what works best FOR THEM, and go from there. If the girls BBall coach says 6am works best because of XYZ and the Boys coach agrees, Boom, done.

No clue...maybe the coaches personal schedule, which should come first in my opinion.

I always have wanted the earliest time slot. The rest of the times suck.

I’m just asking because the consensus on here is that the 6 AM slot is the best slot. I would think if that were the case, A The slot Would not have been available to begin with, B, If for some reason the 6 AM slot was available and the girls sports took it, why is it mentioned in the story.

I would think in the high school ranks, especially in your sub varsity sports where most freshmen and sophomores aren’t driving, the 6 AM slot would be tough And not all that desirable. It isn’t like there’s a bus route for sports conditioning.

that’s why I’ve always been a fan of how we do it down here in Texas, we have an athletic period, Conditioning takes place at that time. If you want extra conditioning you fight for it after the fact.

Ha...Oh yeah, the old Texas Athletic Period! That is legendary! It is a good idea, my HS did that, sort of. If you played a varsity sport you had the last period "off" but not really off, you were getting ready for practice and stuff.

A lot of districts do early busses and then 2-3 late busses. I have no clue what Bennington does.

I had 4pm conditioning slot one summer. After like the second session I let the coaches know I would no longer be "helping out" at that time.

You know what, I wonder if the girls coaches fought to get that 6am time, and flat out did not want to give it up.
