I'm fine with it. I'm tired of watching them try to force the ball to him and then seeing him jump up every time he's tackled like all he had to do was break 1 more tackle for a big play.
Go to the board of a team you like.

How does it look for NU if our best player is willing to leave us for a program like Kentucky?

It won't give us much hope for next season, that's for sure.
No it doesn’t. If Wandale leaves it is a huge vote of no confidence in this coaching staff from our best offensive player. Frost needs to pull his head out of his ***. Why was Wandale running between the tackles when we had a couple of real running backs riding pine?

This is as much an indictment of the culture, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, as it is the complete ineptitude of the offensive coaching staff. There are some serious issues in that locker room and they start with the coaching staff.

Yes....I was waiting for the culture word to be brought up. That word to Scott Frost is like a democrat calling everybody they dont agree with racist. Only culture issue in Lincoln is a culture of good coaches, which is not a good culture. Frost needs to thin out his coaches locker room.

There was covid in Kentucky. They played in a bowl. Even though they had a losing record.

Yep. I question their will to get better or even their love of the game. These guys didn’t play inspiring football for much of the year, that’s for sure.

It would mean that Wandale may want to play his final year of college football in front of his friends and family.

Of course he would like playing in front of family members and friends. Duh. But that would not be his reason for leaving NU.

What would be? Kentucky has a worse offense than we do and Purdue has a worse football team.

I'm saying that if Wandale left NU for Kentucky it wouldn't be because he wants to play in front of friends and family. If he's leaving, it's something about our program that is driving this decision.

we can't hit him out of the backfeild with passes, and he can't take that pounding to run alot , unless they could get him heavier like a barry sanders

Another reason this would be so confusing. He has been a focal point and has put up good numbers here. To leave and go to Kentucky of all places???
His dad has been trying to push him to Kentucky since he was a high school senior. I don't know if it's because he wants him to play closer to home of if it's because papa is getting paid. Wandale had to straighten him out more than once when the fool was posting crap on social media.

He's leaving because he's upset about getting too many touches? That's what good teams do, they get the ball to their best skill players. He's upset about getting snaps at running back because he's small? Darren Sproles was 5'6" and had a 14 year NFL career. Danny Woodhead was 5'8". The Chiefs just drafted a 5'7" running back in the first round. That narrative just doesn't make any sense to me, seems like his dad is getting involved.

Scott Frost is the program. The players come and go. As long as Scott is around the program is relevant.
Frost was relevant for the 2 years he was a player and the one year of the magical season. Nebraska has not been relevant as a football team in 20 years. 12-20 is considered relevant among Husker fans, not the rest of the college football world.

I think its even less likely that skipping a token bowl game would factor into a decision like this. Assuming he wants to go pro after next year, it would be smart to minimize his exposure between now and then. For a guy of his stature, the last thing he would have wanted was an injury that caused him to miss most of this off-season or even worse, some or most of next season. Not only is next year his "money year" but Oklahoma, OSU, Michigan and maybe even the Ireland game will be bigger showcases than whatever toilet bowl we would have played in.. Also, all bigger marqee games than Kentucky is likely to play in next year...

It was a minor miracle he didn’t leave last year so this is no surprise.

No worries though. The fraud will find some walk on from Red Cloud, NE to replace him. And then 3 games in will give us the great quote of “we want to throw deep, Martinez needs help.” Rinse. Repeat.

700 yards from scrimmage this year. A player of his ability would get double that in a good offense. It’s a bad situation for him.
Kentucky is not going to be any better than that and a really good team has other weapons than a 150 lb WR to go to. IF he leaves he leaves. I'm not going to worry about the drama. He's a nice player but he's not an elite player. He might be a punt returner and 4th or 5th WR if he makes it to the next level. We need A guy who translates in to a #1 or #2 WR at the next level. JMO.

Watch out, I was bashed on here when I pointed out his dad was liking tweets about Wandale needing to transfer and how Frost’s offense is trash.

His dad is a problem for any coach who has to coach Wandale. Hell I think his dad is a problem for Wandale. IF his dad was pushing him to transfer to OSU or Clemson I guess I would understand. Kentucky? That's nuts. That's a self centered helicopter parent trying to get junior closer so he can get the SEC VIP experience for himself. Hopefully Wandale is smarter than that but if not I'm not going to blame Frost. That's on the player and his parents IMO. What we're seeing already IMO is out and out open recruiting now from other teams' rosters before a kid even decides to leave. It's going to get worse. What a freaking headache for a coach.

With or without Wandale. I will 100% blame Frost again next year when the WR core is garbage

We only played 8 games. No he would not get 1,400+ yards in 8 games somewhere else. We use him well and he excels here.

They won't be garbage. Martin is a good one and the other young WRs look talented to me. We'll get to see how it plays out. Hope for the best man. Life's too short to be angry and pessimistic before the season even starts. Save that for IF Buffalo beats us.....

Buffalo is a good team. Leipold can coach and will have his kids ready for a full or empty stadium. That game is sure to be a toss up.

Top receiver from last year gone. Top offensive lineman leaves with one game left in the year. Best offensive weapon in 2020 leaves after two years. Houston we've got a problem! Moos open the checkbook!!

Sorry just being realistic. Zero reason to believe Frost will magically be anything but a dud again next year.

Martin is on his third school. Frost couldn’t get the ball to the young supposedly talented WR this year. And one of those young talents has already transferred like many other Frost recruits.

I have no idea if the rumors are true. But probably not a huge deal. In the grand scheme of things we are a 4 win team with without Wandale.

So we‘re no longer counting on Betts, Manning,Houston and Alante Brown and possible a move for Luke if he prefers...

But but but we can’t afford to lose our starting WR that’s also our starting RB and that also gets absolutely annihilated every play by the stupidest decisions by AM, why would he possibly want to leave
A good deal of truth here
