Defense is better than two years ago; offense is significantly worse. ST are still terrible.
Exactly. The defense has improved each of the 3 years under Chins. But of course, he still gets the most blame.

Disagree. I think they both get plenty of criticism. Are you arguing as we sit here today that Frost is getting less criticism? That's false.+1. Chins serves as a huge meat shield to deflect criticism from Frost. He should have been Frosts best man at his wedding

If you listen to the local beat writers and read this board, then yes. If you know sports or anything about football then no. This is an old team that’s very single threaded. Wan’Dale gone after next year. Then a new QB for FIdone for 2 years then he’s gone. The current team is 1 SR away from being the second oldest team in the BIG. Let that sink in.That game determined the literal last place team in the conference.
The media talking like the team finally broke through, because they outlasted a TERRIBLE football team is really something else.
The most talented kids on the Husker team right now are in Frost's last 2 classes. I don't give a sh## how old those seniors will be next year. We're going to be starting 3 underclassmen on our O line and probably 2 junors. A couple of redshirt freshmen at WR and RB. Underclassmen will litter our back 7 on defense next season as well. The most talented guys who will hopefully raise this team up almost all are very young players. It's how it works when you do a complete rebuild. Think of this. Of the guys who leave this year, who are we going to miss? Jaimes and JoJo. That's about it.er next year. Then a new QB for FIdone for 2 years then he’s gone. Look a little deeper, lost 3 starters in the 2nd half. That type of physicality and domintion was the trademark of what the pipeline used to be. They finally physically dominated a team they should've. If we woulda played like this, all year? We win 4 of the 5 we lost. Baby steps, we are slowly getting there. The penalties and TOs need to go way down as we are our own worst enemy.Rutgers was playing their second or third team QB and had lost three starters at least in the second half!
Are people really this delusional?Whatever you want to believe. No reason to believe we couldn't split wisconsin and Cincinnati (both in lincoln) but that's just me.
And sdsu in lincoln? 70% Right. Pull the other one.
We aren't good. We all get that. 6-6 isn't a stretch.
Who are the Jr’s on the OL? I think we will most likely start 3 freshmen (Corcoran, Benhart, Piper). And 2 Sophomores (Jurgens and Nouili). The most talented kids on the Husker team right now are in Frost's last 2 classes. I don't give a sh## how old those seniors will be next year. Rutgers was beaten up, playing without their starting QB and had several injured guys playing on defense. They had an injured guy laying on the field seemingly every 5 defensive snaps. They had won an emotional overtime game against their rival only six days prior.
NU has in a GREAT SPOT to play Rutgers and still only won by 7 due once again to sloppy play by the offense and special teams.
It was nice to end with a win, but nobody thinks it was a "break through".
But, but... tempo.Rutgers "was missing it's starting QB" in an academic sense only. Vedral stunk this season. Stats and W/L both back that up.
At one point this season he lost his job to the guy that started against us. Rutgers is a poor team and we should have rolled them, but Vedral would have made zero difference in that game.
If Mr Martinez doesn't turn the ball over 5 times, I think we win by more than seven. Let's say he only turns it over three times. We'd probably win by 14 to 17Rutgers "was missing it's starting QB" in an academic sense only. Vedral stunk this season. Stats and W/L both back that up.

you know what happens when you assume......If you assume that we win our 3 preseason games (not a stretch) on our regular season schedule and lose to wisconsin... winning yesterday made us a 6-6 team. Which is a bowl team in a normal year. And an improvement over the last several years.
It's progress. Which is something. You can complain that we aren't as good as we all hope but some of us feel no need to destroy other human beings because they aren't who you hoped they would be.
Are you talking to me? Who are these "some people who are "investing in bitching" and "attacking everything related to this team"? Don't be a drama queen. There was nothing in my previous post that was meant to be a "creative excuse" for Rutgers. Rutgers physically got their *** kicked, but the Huskers made so many mistakes that they were lucky to beat anybody that day.Wow. So now we are trying to make creative excuses for our opponents. They had injuries in the second half because we physically beat them up, on the way to 360+ yards rushing. And we also played on Friday. It’s like some people afraid of admitting anything positive happened because they are so invested in bitching about and attacking everything related to this team.
