And Trump supporters can shout all day long that Covid is a scam, but if Trump had done a better job of managing the response I think there is a very good chance he gets reelected. But I think, as do many political analysts, that Trump came into office with a growing economy. He accelerated the growth, but he didn't have to fix an economy in shambles. He didn't face a major war, or attack like 9/11. He was gifted 3 SCOTUS seats, and despite the heated rhetoric around immigration, if you look at the data illegal immigration is was already near historic lows. The major event of his tenure was a pandemic. To take on the health care response, the economic response, and everything in between, Trump needed to lead. He failed miserably, because leading is not his style. He is about division. He is about us vs. them. He is about finding what makes people angry, and feeding on that anger.
