So put him in on passing plays?
Anyone heard anything about where this stands. We could really use his skills!

I'm beginning to not trust the coaches judgement. Sometimes you got to lose control in order to get control.get him out there and throw him the ball!
who cares about practice. time to see if we have some gamers for once.
The last I heard he was set to make the trip and has been practicing, but sounds like that could change rapidly.
10000000% thisget him out there and throw him the ball!

What do you mean by that?

Really don't think it's that complicated. It's no secret that he takes coaching techniques from T.O., especially here. Also no secret that T.O. had guys ride pine for a couple years until they knew exactly what they were doing and could be trusted in all facets, on and off the field. It could really be as simple as he wants to make sure they know exactly what they're doing and can be trusted 100% before putting them out there.you know, same here. We see teams like Clemson, Bama, Georgia, OSU, OU, and even Purdue and Maryland getting their big time true freshmen players out there and involved in the offense. So it’s definitely possible.
I think our staff is TO worried about the run blocking that they aren’t playing some of our best pass catching WRs. I get it, we need them to block, sure. But we also need WRs that can cause separation, get open and catch the ball too. Guys like Manning, Brown, Betts, Hickman, and Fleming need to all start seeing the field and doing some damage, instead of them riding the pine because they aren’t blocking like TEs.

You're not wrong. I would say let's hold off realistic judgement on that though until after Saturday. If we still don't see them, and lose, then I'm willing to argue.oh, I know. I’m a big time backer of Frost and our staff. I always defend Frost and this staff But our lack of production at WR is mind blowing (outside Wandale Robinson). Like I said, we see teams like Purdue get their true freshmen WRs and TEs out there right away and look how well they have flourished. Just my opinion, give Purdue Fleming, Betts, Manning and Brown and those guys would have been playing, if not starting and already had 10-30 catches and looking like All BIG WRs. We have to do something different with our WRs. It hasn’t been working.

So he may be ready to play by the time he graduates?Really don't think it's that complicated. It's no secret that he takes coaching techniques from T.O., especially here. Okay smart *** let me ask you this, what the hell good does it do to throw these Freshman out there against tOSU to just get absolutely shut down and do nothing productive? In a game we weren't going to win? What good does that do? It's one game on the road in their entire career. So he may be ready to play by the time he graduates?
He's probably going to play, but he might notWhat do you mean by that?
I think it does a lot of good to go out and see if you can beat the best.Okay smart *** let me ask you this, what the hell good does it do to throw these Freshman out there against tOSU to just get absolutely shut down and do nothing productive? 9/10 times I agree with that. Just not in this situation. First game of the year, hell yeah let them go do their thing and build confidence for Big 10 play. Just not this time.I think it does a lot of good to go out and see if you can beat the best.
iron sharpens iron.
We played one game... Against the best team we will see all season.oh, I know. Manning is a junior and has more experience than any of our other wideouts outside of maybe Warner.Okay smart *** let me ask you this, what the hell good does it do to throw these Freshman out there against tOSU to just get absolutely shut down and do nothing productive? If our OL can handle pass pro (the early returns look at least ok so far), there’s simply no reason to not put up some legit passing yards. Sub 200 ain’t gonna cut it. Old school stand in the pocket, run a route, throw a dart.
That’s a level of coaching we should all be able to expect given what they’re paid.
Last year the majority of our pass plays beyond 5 yds were improv scrambles. That’s fine and dandy on occasion, but we need to be able to run a play in 3 seconds that can put the ball at least 10 yds down field and then rinse/repeat.
You play who gives you the best chance to win. Throwing a bunch of players out there who have no idea what they're doing is just going to lead to plays breaking down and isn't going to help us win.I’m thinking if there is ever a year to say f the sitting them until they know what they’re doin mentality, it’s this year, play who you have, see what we really have for talent, this year is a way anyways and you’re not burning. Year of eligibility so play then, get them game reps and let’s get to moving this program forward
I agree, and I suppose I didn’t explain my stance good enough there... but yes you play who gives you the best chance... but don’t over look guys because they aren’t blocking or whatever, if they have skills put them in, some guys play different then they practice... if they still break down then sit them... but I do still think that if there is ever a year to just see what you have for talent and test your young guys, it’s now... that was kind of where I was trying to go with thatYou play who gives you the best chance to win. Throwing a bunch of players out there who have no idea what they're doing is just going to lead to plays breaking down and isn't going to help us win.
Thank you, a voice of reason! Just give him the damn ball!get him out there and throw him the ball!

Amen!If we don't get him on the field this game it's really going to make me think Frost has a real problem. If we can't get the #1 JUCO WR on the field it's going to look really bad.
