I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing Frost was asking the question to the reporters because he actually wanted to know what they thought. Although it may have sounded like a question, I bet it was more of a cocky rhetorical question. That has been his style when talking to the press. And it's something that I hope he changes.

or you refuse to believe it so you can ***** and moan about Frost instead? I’ll take that one instead. The dam reported cleared it up and came clean how it actually went. Some of you guys are hell bent on taking shots on Frost if it’s warranted or not. Maybe he did mean it and was actually curious. Either way, makes no dam difference one way or another. Burrow is an NFL QB now...time to move on already. Ridiculous

I know it doesn't make a difference. I never said it did. It's just that I've seen enough of his statements to have an opinion on what he said. Sorry if it's not the same as your rosy opinion. You come off as someone who sees no chinks in his armor. I call that ridiculous.

im just not going out of my way to call people liars just because you refuse to give any credit. Nothing to do with Rosie opinions. You wanted to assume Frost was being arrogant and obviously he wasn’t and when it got cleared up...you refuse to believe the reporter/s that was actually there for it all. Maybe he really did just ask...either way, so what.

It's getting to the point, they aren't fans as much as complainers. All fans have the right to complain, but to continue to with facts staring you in the face, nope, not fans, just want to complainers.

I'm a Minnesota fan, born & raised. I always liked Nebraska though. Underdog state, humble state, Republican state, fly-over country, loved watching Turner Gill run wild (and to this day I think it was him who stayed a summer 2 doors down from me on Carson's Bay in Minnesota while he was playing. I always support the Big Ten.

I only want Frost to fail in humiliating fashion when I hear the outrageous unfounded attacks on Fleck.

Advice. Set the narrative. Your strong point is....recruiting. Whenever anyone talks crap about Burrow or anything, respond with your recruiting rankings.

I have to ask, when did Frost unfoundedly attack Fleck? I googled it and everything I seen was Fleck and Frost bragging about the other. Please post some links with quotes of Frost attacking Fleck because I’m honestly not seeing it anywhere.

No doubt, it’s truly gotten ridiculous. Hell, all you have to do is look at our past 2 draft classes to see Frost inherited crap for talent and that’s the biggest reason why went 4-8 and 5-7 the last couple years. It sucks, it really sucks but we are in the middle of true rebuild, simple as that. And these coaches and players deserve and need our support. Not a divide of some fans supporting them and others calling our coaches bad, arrogant and everything they can think off. If we want to truly build our team back up, EVERYONE needs to be on board and buy in. That’s if we ever want to win a conference title again or at least have a chance. GBR for life...!!!

A true rebuild includes no depth, and we have had no depth.
I'll say this again, when we have three more four stars than a minnesota, but all of our front line LBs have left because of coaching change, we had no depth at O line, no depth at safety, no depth at rb, no depth at wr, many of our front line guys at those positions left too.
Now, who is better, MRs second list recruits, or Minnesotas first picks? Now, add in no depth at the other spots, and we redshirted for depth, so those guys hardly played even if they were young frosh, they wouldn't be any better than minnesotas starters in consistency.

Not hard to see, hard to do. mR recruits? One drafted if you attribute the twins to Bo.
And SF is arrogant? His guys?
When his guys are playing like his guys, he wont sound arrogant all the sudden. He doesn't to his players, and we should be thankful it is that way too.
Fans didn't want Bo, he was arrogant but in his twisted way, he didn't recruit okie out of respect? That doesn't make up for his arrogance.
MR? Most aggressive he was,was saying, yep, looks like football.

Get used to it you complainers, and once we start winning, some still wont be happy, they wont be able to have such a feast to complain about, facts be damned!
The others? They'll love this newly discovered coach.

Nailed it...anyone that disagrees only has to look at the last 2 draft classes for proof. If we had the talent in the upper class men, we’d had a few more draft picks and at least 1 or few 1st round to 4th round draft picks.

Outside that, anyone with eyes could see our lack of depth all over the place the past few years. Year 3 we should look and play much better as a team. I don’t know if we will go 9-3 or 10-2 or anything but we should play a lot better and improve a crossed the board.

Plus I think the addition of OC/WR Coach Lubick is going to make words of difference. Lubick will most definitely get the most out of our WRs...something we needed since Keith Williams. The last time Frost and Lubick ran an offense together, they averaged having a top 10 offense in the country (peaked out at Top 3 in the country with the number 1 rushing offense) while at Oregon. Frost and Lubick are the perfect tag team together.

Everyone concedes our qb room is looking pretty good, and we had no depth there because of attrition.
Why is it so hard to think those other rooms are coming alont too?

Man, 17 four stars, a handful of them, mid to high level four stars. There's some players in that bunch.
Besides the other 23, which there's some dudes there too.
Sure, as in any rebuild we have some projects, some reaches too, but likely a diamond in the rough or two as well.

To me, the complainers are running out of time, and all this rewritten history corrects itself.

I don't think he meant that Frost attacked Fleck. I think he's referring to people on forums such as this one....

And....having watched Fleck's presser after losing to Wisconsin, I was far more impressed his ability to take the blame, instead of how Frost has handled losses...which is to question his guys dedication, toughness, etc. Save that stuff for the locker room, not the media.

It doesn't seem like you hate to say it.

There's a big difference between bringing in a graduate transfer from a big time program looking to start and a sit out transfer that honestly NO ONE saw as a threat to start at QB ever. But hey, let's crucify Frost on this cross forever.

Heaven forbid we bring in someone from a big school that is looking to be a starter. Heaven forbid that we should try to win.

I’m not going to speculate on if the starting position was or was not promised to 2AM because I wasn’t there for his recruiting process.

what I will say is that I have been very vocal on this whole get over it. JB was transferring out of OSU because he didn’t land the job there either, and no matter how anyone tries to swing it there was no way of knowing if he was better then what we had on the roster at that point. Yes you can make the argument for bringing him in for depth, but at the time we had 2AM coming in, Gebbia, and O’Brian. I’m not sure on the timing of bunch but I believe we brought him onboard after O’Brian left. The difference between bringing Bunch in and not JB had nothing to do with if Bunch was better then what we had, it had everything to do with him already knowing Frosts system and having a QB that could talk with the others and help teach them the system and be serviceable if 2AM and gebbia couldn't pick the system up in time. This whole narrative of us passing because frost asked a legit question is getting old, and for everyone that knew he would turn into this congrats you have a great future as an NFL GM, or if your talent is predicting the future hit me up so I can get the lotto numbers from you, I’ll split my winnings with you (just don’t try to read into the future in if I was serious about that)

It's not our jobs as posters on this board to know talent. Frost and company is getting paid to know that. It's their job to KNOW the talent that is out there, they are getting the big bucks for that. And if they don't know, they have the resources to find out everything they need to know about about a kid. I'm not mad at Frost for this, but a simple decision like this would have made his seat A LOT more comfortable than what it is today. Not only Frost, we've missed on a lot of instate kids in the past 6 years so my frustration is directed at the evaluation of talent that has been piss poor.

It's water under the bridge and what's done is done but we have to be better and be better fast.

I also wanted Frost to go after Burrow. Frost betting everything on a true freshman who didn't even play his senior year because of injury, seemed like a big risk. I would have tried to get as many quality QBs on the roster as possible.

But I have a feeling Frost had to pretty much promise Martinez the starting QB job in order to get him to come here.
I thought Burrow looked like the best QB on OSU's roster when he destroyed us in that 2nd half at OSU. The kid was extremely quick with his reads, very accurate and then showed excellent athleticism. That said, Frost had a full QB room at that point and I could see why he would want to build with a kid who was going to be at NU for 4 years. In hindsight that was a mistake but nobody knew Burrow was going to be the QB he was his senior year. One could argue that his junior year it looked like Frost had made the correct decision.

Fleck should have taken blame after Iowa loss. Running on field (his lie about ‘checking on player’) and getting that Penalty probably did cost them that game

Perhaps, and maybe he did in the locker room....but as I said, he doesn't throw his guys under the bus to the media after losses. Frost can't say that. Well, he can, but it wouldn't be true.

I don't like everything Fleck does, either, but I get why guys would want to play for him.

And, make no mistake...part of the disdain people on this board have for him is the simple fact that his team has beaten Nebraska in 2 of his 3 seasons. People can rip on me for saying this, but that doesn't change facts.

I don't mind fleck, but I also don't really view minnesota as a road block for NU getting back to playing for conference championships on a regular basis.

Maybe not now.....but if we're sitting here in another 6 years, and Fleck is 8-1 or 7-2 against Nebraska (and I'm not saying that will happen....but it isn't impossible, ether....did you honestly see Wisconsin having an 8-1 series lead since 2011?), then I'd have to say they are.

How is it that you get to tell me why I don’t like Fleck? These are the facts from my perspective...

The fact is, I can’t stand that he says his player was lying motionless on the field which is why he ran out there against Iowa. When he got to his “motionless” player, his player was already heading to the huddle.

The fact is, I can’t stand that he said after every loss last year, “We are the youngest team in America”. Maybe he’s not throwing his players under the bus there, but to hear that week in and week out, the fan base here in Minnesota got tired of the same excuse week after week.

The fact is, in the run up to playing Auburn and in the aftermath he continuously created and promoted the narrative that Auburn is a blue blood program. Where in any circle of college football is auburn considered a blue blood, other than the mind of PJ Fleck? Isn’t it enough to say “We beat a great team from the SEC.”. No, that’s not good enough, “We beat a blue blood!”

The fact is, I don’t like him because he is constantly controlling the narrative to what fits him best.

To your point of if he were the husker coach and leading them to 11 win seasons would I love him? I would be happy for 11 wins, but I can’t stand that he feels compelled to fit the story to his way of thinking. So the fact is, I like him a whole lot less, not because he has beaten 2 out of three seasons... I can’t stand his schtick.

I like PJ less than I do Ferentz, who has won 5 in a row, and any wisconsin coach, who hasn’t lost to us in 6 or 7 years... I like Fitzgerald and Brohm more than I do Fleck, and they both have beaten Nebraska more than PJ.

So don’t tell me why I don’t like PJ. Your narrative is wrong.

Are you a gymnast? Cuz that's a huge leap you're making there... I'm not getting bent out of shape about it, I'm just sharing with you that your attempt to tell husker fans (which you aren't, by your own admission) why they don't care for Fleck is wrong; it isn't because we lost to him 2 out of 3 years.

But nice job completely ignoring my initial response. That's what you do when someone puts you in your place. You deflect. And you're good at it.

The thing no one has mentioned is that LSU made a huge change in offensive philosophy after Burrow's first year there. Ensminger was the OC in name only last year, without Joe Brady calling the shots, that offense looks much like it did in 2018 with Ensminger running it, and Burrow is probably a sixth round pick.

exactly. Even so, NU would probably have been happy with a QB that performed well enough to get drafted in the 6th round...
