I can can assure you with 1000% certainty that releases included deaths. I'm not talking in general terms.
When a patient dies you "release" them to the morgue or discharge them to the morgue

1000%
400%
380%
150%

Sit down. We need to have a talk about percentages.

Just hearing, those who already are taking chloroquine due to lupis, malaria etc, that the database as of april 1st, can finally be tracked back to how those already on chloroquine reacted to the virus.
Understand, this is not s treatment, but those already taking the drug, and how they faired when tested positive for wuhan, if thry cleared up faster, with less damage to lungs, pneumonia clearing sooner, less over ventilatiors etc.

it's time for local leaders to start making some reasonable decisions about getting back to work.

one-size-fits-all won't apply much longer in terms of quarantine and staying at home. those who don't live with nana, who aren't at risk themselves and who can reasonably get back to work should start to be able to, and soon.

resuming the economy when it's 100% safe for everyone is ridiculous and completely pie-in-the-sky. there's just no such thing.

I just bought a scarf today. I’m good...no more worries.
I think I'll take my chances with Covid before going the scarf route. CDC numbers on influenza season (last 6 months) are a US fatality range of 24,000 - 63,000 (43,500 for a midpoint). I hope your scarf has anti-flu AND anti-Corona properties. Winking

Have you seen this? https://www.tweaktown.com/news/7152...eath-toll-21-million-phones-vanish/index.html
China is saying it is from businesses closing and canceling their business lines.
Nothing would surprise me. I love traveling but that is 1 country that just doesnt remotely appeal to me at all. If I could swoop in hit up the Great Wall and Forbidden City and swoop right out I would be more than fine. I say this as someone who wouldnt mind visiting North Korea

Our front lines, our healthcare folks, are our last line too.

Hopes and prayers to those out on the line

I admit I do not know all the details here, but if Trump stepped in and made this guy whole I'd be fine with it..now if he did something he knew was a no-no I will reconsider my position, but on the surface, it looks to me like this guy got screwed.

I didn't get tested, my fiance did. She's an oncology nurse working with very high risk patients.

I'm sure I wouldn't be able to get a test, but don't need to. We had the same sickness (fever, aches, sore throat, persistent cough) 2 weeks apart in Jan.
We have been suspecting our kids had it in Jan. Tested Neg for flu and strep. Doc said he has been seeing it going around like crazy. Ran 103 fevers for around 5 days, had horrible sore throats and bad coughs that lasted for 3 weeks. Amazingly neither the wife or I got it.

you both probably got it and just didn't show symptoms.

I think there are A LOT of Americans this virus has run its course through, and our 'experts' are completely neglecting that as even a possibility when forecasting cases/hospitalizations/deaths yet to come.

I thought I read where he didnt lose rank or benefits so thats good. I dont know protocols here but if there is another President in January could he be reinstated?

WRONG!!!!! Cuomo said it himself in the presser that those were the ones that get healthy and leave the hospital.

I was in London, Manchester and Wolverhampton in Dec. Tons of crowds, sat with people from different countries, multiple flights, train trips...came back home was sick as hell for about 10 days. Chalked it up to travel fatigue and change of climate....who knows. I have a friend who got it flying back from Israel. 99% sure it was from proximity to someone on the flight from Frankfurt. Said it knocked him on his *** for a solid week.

seems like nearly everyone on this board either has a similar story or knows someone who does regarding sickness during the first couple months of the year.

very few interfacing with COVID today, save a few tragic cases we're all rooting for.

at least worth an eyebrow raise, IMO.

the idea was to make it easier on the hospitals. the projections for hospitalizations are many magnitudes higher than reality.

First 3 weeks of Feb, I was still going to work but would come home and just lay on the couch all night. Probably not corona, but possible.

I commend the captain for looking after his men, like he should, but they are also probably right to relieve him of his command for doing it the way he did it.

Maybe bigboxes or another veteran can chime in, the military has very strict discipline and protocol and anyone from a private to a 4 star general has to abide by it. I don’t have a problem with the captain being relieved of his duty. Think of it in another way How would Bill Moos take it if someone in the athletic department said something against John cook?

You do understand that the 100k-200k deaths were in effect preventable? Somewhere along the line people made choices to go on cruises, spring break, or continue their daily routines. People who carried the virus onto cruise ships could be responsible for thousands of deaths...is there any accountability for infecting people because you are care-less? Government exists to protect humans from humans by placing servants in positions of power. Our military protects us, our police protect us, our teachers educate us...enforcement that keeps people alive has absolutely nothing to so with SS, or KGB...

How would anyone on those initial cruise ships have any liability? No one knew anything about this when they boarded.

People continued to get on cruises into March...by the time they were two days in the cruises were looking for ports to dump sick and dying passengers...and don't tell me millions of ignorant Americans didn't ignore the signs...people are supposed to have personal responsibility and a virus that has been killing people since January should alert some people to change habits. It is hard...my wife was pushing for a spring break vacation and I had to continually say no because it looked like this was going to be bad. I can't stand how easily some can stand and watch freedoms kill people. Freedom is in the eye of the beholder...the person who will spend their last 4 days with a tube down their throat has certainly lost some freedom because another person wanted to exercise theirs...

I totally agree, but you dont treat good actions like a pet.
Being resposible, first trying to talk to them, then reporting does not require a reward to do so.
Incentives undoes society in this direction, us against them. If it proliferates, it'll be the soviet union reporting to the kgb so the kgb doesn't look their way.
Liberals use this as their go easy mantra, and while I am not saying go easy on knuckleheads, I also dont believe on reward, like illegals not reporting on others, or crimes reported in high crime areas, it presetting that us against them, with incentive applied.
Sure, report it, sure, bang a few heads together, but no rewards.

And our leaders were saying come to china town, eat at a Chinese restaurant,go to the st pats parade, go to mardi gras etc.
Until it was really here, it was assumed it wasn't here. Faucis comments show this. This is an ongoing scenario, and though Fauci looked foolish then, hindsighting is foolish in itself without context.

I prefer context.

Whats interesting is, going to church is like going to the store, except the Godless will never understand this.
But we take measures going to the store, so to going to church.
Nothing to see here but more misunderstanding of people, ignorant.

It is a risk, whatever we do, but a Godless person trying to put a value on the Godly is foolishness.

Oh, and those in hard hit areas that didn't heed the early warning, if it gets bad in those 'holdout' areas, it'll be much the same as those hard hit areas, and people will do what they have to.
Messing with the constitution isn't wise, but hey, they are Godless.

Other than nursing homes, how did the person get sick if they weren't also exercising their freedom?

I think he said something similar on January 26th. Reportedly a foremost expert in this area saying “not real concerned about it,” but relying on a guy like that is apparently reprehensible to a very vocal minority.

He's an expert in a small field, he's earned his respect. But,as others have said, Fauci likely won't push the fda to fast track a vaccine, as they need data, he made this statement in January without data.
It's why we have a president.
