I can see it now.. People that watch this video are going to immediately say there is no diversity in Nebraska, and too many 'white' people on campus..

To me it looks boring. Count me among the disappointed.
Come on Pennsy, you know that it's what's on the inside that counts, just like the plain looking girl who never got asked to the prom, but the kid that asked her out to the movies found out she was a tigress!:D

Come on, guys.. This video is simply a VERY early rendering, to get out while we have all this media in town. I would guess Moos was probably a little embarrassed to throw a video this generic like this up on the screen.

Will this thing have bells and whistles?

Oh, yes. But many of those details aren’t hammered out yet. Moos and associate athletic director Matt Davison, though, said that “efficiency” for student-athletes will be the driving force, rather than what’s flashy.
Does this project include updates to South Stadium?

No, it does not. It will include, though, improvements to the North Stadium seating areas. Moos said the goal is to allow for fans to more easily get to and from their seats in North Stadium. South Stadium improvements will be another, future project.

Even in rendering it looks impressive, I’m sure it will be even more so in reality. I was impressed with Wandale, very well done for such a young man... things are looking brighter all the time... GBR...

5. Bounds will have a big role in this
Something else we learned this week is former University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds will be heavily involved in this project.

Bounds has been brought in to be a fundraiser for the Foundation, as NU must raise $100 million on their own, and they've already been able to bring in $35 to $40 million of private gifts through the leadership of Bounds.

"His leadership a few months ago kept this thing going," Davison of Bounds. "His leadership helping us meet with the Regents and then transitioning into the philanthropy piece of it. Hank has been a huge piece of this whole thing. I give (current President) Susan Fritz a ton of credit for keeping Hank on in this role to help us with the project."

I'm glad to see it but also rather surprised that Hank Bounds continues to be involved in the project. Seems pretty unusual to me that after leaving the University he'd still be involved. That's a good thing, just surprising.

I didn't see it on the video. Did they say where they're moving the bottleneck on the NE side of the stadium to?

What were you expecting? An 80 story skyscraper? The school is spending $155 million dollars. It will look incredible when finished. Why do you have to be such a debby-downer?

This is encouraging. Can’t wait for this to be up and running. The nice thing is guys we are recruiting now can be told that it will be done while they are still here. Glad Mr. Moos is being proactive about this

I was expecting something bigger, yes, and with more and bigger windows, and all kinds of red everywhere.
80 stories? Hmmm... That would be sweet! With a heliport on top! Lol

Sorry I was a Debbie downer. I am sure this will be top notch.

I have to agree with you on bigger windows.. I suppose when you see Northwestern facility by the lake you envision bigger windows for our facilities, but the biggest part of their facility is the football practice field over looking the lake after that everything else won’t be better or bigger than what Nebraska will have..

My impression too. This video is basically a proof of concept. No interior details whatsoever.

What we know:

- It will be a very big building.
- It will be full of football things.
- It will be connected to other football facilities.
- The exterior will resemble surrounding campus buildings.

We know the rough size, price tag and basic aesthetic. It really comes down to the football things and recruiting frills. Gotta nail that part.

But if we can build a basketball practice facility that NBA teams want to emulate, I'm guessing we can figure out the football version.

Yup...we aren't going to spend Four Seasons money to build a Super 8. It will be impressive. Extraordinarily impressive.

My main concern is whether this is going to take money away from our county scholarships?
Just restructured, might be splitting a couple counties. I think they'll have the details in the next newsletter, not sure if the public forum will be before or after its release.
