Said he wants alternates home and away - the blackshirts I assumed. The cool part I liked is his idea that if the defense holds an opponent to x number of points we wear the black shirts the next game. I would drop the first idea and say shut outs = Black Shirts end of story.

I bet he wants to have a bunch of uniform choices, ala Oregon. Not saying it will happen, just that is what I suspect he wants, eventually.

I don't, I think he'll stop at 4. And that is a really good number to have, plus I love how it incentivizes competition between the O and the D.

2020 Uniforms:
1.) Classic Home
2.) Classic Away
3.) Blackshirt Home
4.) Blackshirt Away

I love this idea! Offense is sexy but defense wins championships. So give the defense some extra incentive to go out and crush an opponent.

So, will the defense be wearing the blackshirt unis and the offense regular ones? I'm assuming not, but I remember years ago when Iowa State had players wearing different colored helmets.

I wouldn’t mind some of that at all. Well, just as long as we don’t get as bad as those damn Ducks.

It is currently illegal to wear different uniforms/helmets, colors all have to be the same

I figured that was the case, but I thought I heard Frost say "that unit" would wear the uniforms if they had a certain level of production. I probably didn't hear that.

I believe he said that unit would pick the uniform for the next week

Does anyone really think there is incentive in a game to have the opportunity to select a uniform for the next game?

I love the jerseys love the idea of having a few different jersey options going forward. Not sure I 100% agree with idea of wearing them as a reward for the Defense. This is a team game, will the offense get their own jerseys as reward if they put up say 600 yards offense? Plus I would like to see them even if the D isn't great.

I can't find the quote, but I know he said something while at UCF that kids love Alternate uniforms, and they are a good recruiting tool. I believe UCF had 4 or 5 different jerseys combinations that they wore while Frost was there. As I have said, Im up for anything that gets wins. I trust Frost in doing what he feels is best for the program.

Yes. My sales team loves small day to day/week to week incentives. We actually have an office turnover chain. It’s big, it’s gaudy, it’s ugly, completely stupid, cost me $5 and ten minutes of my time, but my team loves it and has fun with it. It promotes an extra sense of competition and something fun to help drive production yet make the mundane day to day work a little more fun.

We need to keep up with other teams and doing things like this. It does help and we all seen how it’s helped the Oregon Ducks with their recruiting. I say “hey, if Frost, his staff and the players are fine with wearing different uniforms ever other game, then I’m down and support it”. It’s all about our team anyways, not so much us. What ever helps us sale our Huskers...I’m for. GBR

Whatever works. That is my new motto. Heck, we could come out in f$cking purple jerseys with a Prince purple rain song for the tunnel walk and I wouldn’t care so long as it helps us win.

Obviously some "purists" will want no jersey options, a fullback in on every play, and a play book that contains only the plays Power Left, Power Middle, and Power Right, but you can't have an innovative, bold, trend setting coach who does everything the exact same way it's always been done. That's paradoxical.

How can you wear black jerseys for away games?

You have to wear white or possible a cream jersey for away games..It’s a NCAA rule..

If what you are saying is legit, what will be the uniform for the Blackshirt Away combination since road teams wear white?

I think if both schools agree to the visiting team color they can wear them. IMO in this case it might be hard to get the two schools to agree with less then one week before kick off and you're giving out the colors as an incentive.

Ya if your talking cross town rivals like USC/UCLA..
And they asked the NCAA permitted to do so.

When have OU and texass ever agreed on wearing both home jerseys for their big game and they play their game on a neutral field..

the road kit would be white/cream/light colored

teams also choosing to wear white at home (LSU) stipulate visitors wear their darks, but that's not happening in the B1G, so neither here nor there

I believe the conference is the one to approve.

For OU/Texas their colors might be to similar for someone who is color blind.
