Was the hiring of Callahan better for the future of Nebraska football than hiring Bo Pelini (who was proven to be too immature, and a below average coach)?

He modified our offense, which Pelini would not have done. Plus Coach Frost offense wouldn't exist without the west coast style

I will say (even Sean, Nate, and Steve sipple agree) Callahan had a great offensive mind. You think if BC would've kept BP as his DC, we could've contended?

Wasnt Frost coached by Bill Walsh?
Not only that, but "Frost" and "Walsh" both have 5 letters.

Nope.
You dont understand how a successful program operates if you think callys fix was as simple as a different DC.

Holy crap dude, I'm not saying he was the next TO. All I'm saying is he was the right hire at the right time, we needed to update our offense. I dont disagree with the Pelini hire either, we were weak on defense.

No, he wasn't. He was a product of a totally botched firing and a clown car candidate "search". Our AD had nobody lined up and the search for a replacement drug waaayyyyy out in embarrassing fashion. Houston Nutt even stood us up.

Turned out, Pederson had whiffed over and over, and Callahan was the last female left in the bar at closing time

Wasnt Frost coached by Bill Walsh?

Yes.

IMO Frost’s coaching pedigree is second to none. Coaches that he either played for or coached with include, Bill Walsh, Tom Osborne, Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick, Jon Gruden, Mike Tomlinson, and Chip Kelly. And considering he did a GA stint at K-State I have to think he had some significant contact with Bill Snyder. Frost has been directly influenced by some of the greatest football minds of the past 30 years.

Wasnt Frost coached by Bill Walsh?

No. I have no idea who you are or what kind of drugs you may be on but, Frost was not coached by Bill Walsh.

As a matter of fact Frost coached Bill Walsh. Yes, Frost is that good.

So Solich was the future?
You're obviously impossible to debate with.
You. Are. Wrong. About. Callahan.

You never mentioned solich, Im not going down that path with someone shallow enough to believe Callahan was the right hire, because you cannot handle it. Im betting you were one of the dolts ooooing and ahhhing when we shifted pre snap first game.

Again, I present the 2nd greatest gif of all time to you...

I personally think that it would’ve been better off if they left Frank in place. Obviously we wouldn’t have known at the time but changing the offense in that manner threw us off the rails. We havent had a real offensive identity since.

Cally did a ton of interesting stuff at NU...he was innovative in many ways...

Interactive Playbooks
Used technology unique to NU to teach playbook and to check for playbook knowledge
Spring game on NFL Network
Dynamic Recruiting...
Throat slash for OU which I thought was awesome

He also stocked our team with draft picks which gave us a small but realistic chance at a national title in 2009 and 2010...bo peep pissed it away.

He was also very grateful for our fan base and really did get it after we lost to OU in the 2006 Big 12 championship. It was really sad that 2007 snowballed but I suppose it was inevitable.

The defense was pathetic.
