Contrary to what has been written here Omaha would be a great site for the Tourney. Fact is Indy and Omaha are probably the two best sites truly in Big Ten territory. People can say Chicago but the cost at attending there is prohibitive!
Most grads of B1G schools can afford a few days in Chicago. There are a bunch of cheep a$$es or poor alums in this thread

Ok, as a Nebraskan I’m comfortable enough in my own skin to admit there is over 1m more peeps with the amenities that come with it...plus lakes with some semblance of clarity, 6 airports with connections, more natural beauty (subjective), more political diversity (Nebraska’s redness is an outlier in the purple B1G footprint), better hunting, more cultural outlets, and more.

I love living in Lincoln, Omaha is underrated... but Nebraskans certainly have a high opinion of it has and semi blind to what it doesn’t

And chicagos blueness isnt an outlier? Gtfo with your obvious bias. Political "diversity" doesnt matter when it comes to a basketball tourney, good gawd.

Of course it would crush it in Omaha. It's already proven with the Big 10 Baseball Tournament a couple of years ago, NCAA First and Second Rounds (x2), Sweet Sixteen and Final Four last year, USA Swim Trials (x2), and the big whopper of them all, the NCAA College World Series where the state hasn't seen Nebraska or Creighton in 14+ years there, yet still the seats fill.

It would be great if Lincoln could lure an NFL game someday, or an NHL outdoor series game in Memorial Stadium. Guarantee either would be a sellout. Doubt it would ever happen, but it would be fun as heck to see it.

Easy champ. I have no political bias...which make the redness of my state less than interesting in that front

Chicago>Omaha for a weekend of basketball...and it’s not EVEN close

I don't think anyone here is arguing with the notion that if the Big Ten tourney is going to be in one location, Chicago is the likely best choice. If it's going to rotate between two locations, the best choices are Chicago and Indianapolis. But if the conference is determined to bounce the tournament around to several locations, Omaha is a viable candidate. Personally I don't think it will happen because when the tournament was held on the far eastern end of Big Ten territory, the results were awful. I think Omaha would support the tournament better than DC or NYC because people there actually give a crap about college sports, as evidence by the success of the CWS and other major events. But I think the Big Ten is likely to keep the tourney in Chicago and Indianapolis in the foreseeable future.

I think the only thing we can all agree on is it's never going to be in Iowa. Just saying.
I don't know that you can say that. Wells Fargo is a nice venue. Not as good as the Century Link or whatever it's called now, but the city will support it. Only problem is airline connections.

No I’ve been to Chicago for the Inaugural Big 10 tournament in 1998 and I would like to go some place different and wouldn’t have cared to go too New York..

Granted things are more expensive over 20 years later but I went then and had a blast and spent money. I would go there now it I hadn’t already been there..

I have my sights set on Indianapolis next year or in 2022..

It makes a lot of sense...You have a lot of fan bases that are about 3 hours or less (drive) from the location.

Easy drive for most fans and very easy fly for the others.

Would love to see a Omaha but it is too far to the west geographically for it to ever happen imo for a mid size city.

Maybe...but they do baseball here and the CWS and NCAA Tourney...so I have to think they will host it at some point.

My thoughts:

1. They will end up hosting
2. Each game will sell out
3. All guests will LOVE Omaha and say it was amazing
4. They will have the next 15 Big Ten tournaments in Indy and Chicago.

C'mon now - Des Moines is a great airport as long as you don't mind writing United a blank check for whatever it feels like charging you.

Would be a crime if Ford Field doesn’t host the B1G title game at some point.

Also Omaha would be cool for BTT so would LCA the new Pistons/Red Wings stadium.

Dammit I just want Detroit to host
